The hotel is in a central location close to numerous restaurants and the Harpa concert hall. Overall, the staff was very helpful in arranging for taxi rides. The reason for the four stars is because there was a charge to use the spa - which was not much of a spa in my opinion. (It was more like a trough filled with warm water and a sauna) The Breakfast buffet (additional charge) was good with lots of tasty options. This was Our first trip to Iceland so I would suggest that you lower your expectations for what is considered to be a “luxury” hotel. Instead, Enjoy the central location to shops etc, and the central bus station which is a 20 minute walk and a few blocks from both city and tour bus stops.

Second time here - love the location, helpful staff and condition of the property with nice rooms. Biggest disappointment this time was the breakfast for which we paid extra - served in sterile ballroom with meager selections. Went next door to Apotek Hotel for much better breakfast at same price! Also had dinner there night prior and really liked it!

The hotel is ideally located on a quiet square one block behind the main road. In a matter of two minutes, you were in the middle of the action. The bed was comfy and staff was lovely and helpful.

Hotel Borg is a classic hotel, loved the art deco vibe. The sauna facilities are awesome we used multiple times. I personally found the mattress in our room the most comfortable of any I can remmeber. And you can't beat the downtown location. We're sad to leave but will be back
