It a very good location, close to many shops and restaurants, the beach is just a few minutes walk. There are many stores that offer good sightseeing tours at a decent price. This time we did not stay in the main Catalina building we were above Taco Taco. The rooms were adequate, but some maintenance is needed to spruce it all up. Staff were great. Barbara at the front desk was very helpful. Valet parking was easy and convenient. Location of hotel is great. Taco Taco has good food and the Social Club across the street. Walking distance to many tourist attractions, restaurants and shopping.

Loved the stay. Staff was very friendly and this was a perfect location. I am a huge fan of the rooftop pool experience, so very lovely. My only wish is that the room would have had more hangers or shelves as we were 3 who stayed in a room and it would’ve been helpful to have more space to put stuff. The location was perfect, beach being a 5min walk, botanical garden walking distance, nice pools on property and beautiful restaurants next to the hotel… Walgreens 24 hr right up the street. Smoke shop, liquor store, clothing store all in the area help the stay go smoothly…

On arrival we were assigned a room on ground floor of the building to the right of the main reception starting with M. However we found the room in poor state, WiFi didn’t work, TV either, was in poor condition and generally not nice. We returned to reception and were given another room in the main Catalina building. This building was much nicer, room similar size but it was much better in condition with WiFi TV and no noisy air con machine. In general the hotel is decent enough. Food was acceptable but as ever Miami prices. Good location for south beach and airport and getting around generally easy with Ubers etc. I would stay again but only if I could get a room in nicer part. Pool on roof was likewise nice enough

LOCATION The hotel is very well located with walking distance from everything you need. There is a bus stop as well to go downtown or the airport. AMENETIES Free pool towel rentals, 2 pools even though the rooftop one is uselless because it's too warm and full of floating sunscreen. Free sunscreen dispenser at the big pool is great. FREE HAPPY HOUR BOOZE, yes you can get lot for free ! NOISE first night we were right above the taco taco restaurant, the music was horrendous... But at our request staff switched us the next day and our second room was great. FOOD: the buffet breakfast is great, lacks a but of diversity after 4 days. The 2 restaurants are good but a bit overpriced. STAFF: absolutely amazing and helped us with all our needs. Overall 5/5

Catfish Hotel - online pictures are amazing, looks like they were taken years ago because IRL I barely recognized the hotel from the photos. Location was great. Near the beach and restaurants. We had live larvae on our pillows when we walked in the room. We had about five of them, so we flushed them down the toilet and cleaned up the bed. Thinking it was a one-off. Next day we didn’t see any bugs until we got back from dinner. New bugs with wings were dead on our little refrigerator, we had about 20 of them just dead on there. Funny thing is, we walked out of the room with no bugs on there, house cleaning literally walked in after us and when we returned we found 20 bugs dead on the window of the refrigerator, so weird. So I took pictures, walked to front desk, showed them pictures of the bugs, they said they will clean it up and never did. We checked out the next morning. If we visit South Beach Miami. We will look for another hotel. Was not impressed with cleanliness or service. I’ll spend the extra $20-$40/night and stay next door, we checked out those properties and they are actually clean.

The rooms need a major upgrading. I am sure they have made enough money to change some things. The rugs are dingy. Change it to fake hardware floors easier to clean. The windows in my room were off alignment. The table slanted. I was disappointed in the room. The staff were helpful. The location is perfect. The AC did its job.
