LUX* Grand Gaube
10/10 Excellent
"The staff at Lux Grand Gaube go out of their way to accommodate you. They are all extremely friendly and welcoming. Food and drink choices are extensive and excellent quality, plenty of different dining options available, ice cream car and cocktail trucks are fun extras. Our room (Ocean suite) had great amenities with daily housekeeping and mini bar restocking. Balcony was top class, including double lounger, comfy chairs, bath and shower - views to die for.
We visited the library on our last day and would have spent more time in there if we’d found it sooner.
All in all a great all inclusive. "
"I couldn’t fault the Salt of Palmar Hotel. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent quality and cooked to order. I would recommend the all inclusive option as not so many other options nearby. Very good coffee also.
The location is on the East coast, so a bit windier. We took a few snorkelling trips on the hotel’s boat, which was amazing.
We stayed 2 weeks and took some days out to tour the island, lots of trips/tours available.
The room looked directly out onto the Ocean with waves breaking on the reef.
Quiet surroundings and very safe environment. Would 100 % recommend "
"Beautiful setting and landscaping. Staff are brilliant, friendly and attentive and not in your face.
Spa was great.
Recommend ‘water shoes’ for the beach as it’s a coral beach, it’s beautiful, the shoes will enhance the experience
"
"Roons are very clean. If any little thing is wrong it is corrected straight away by housekeeping. Staff in the restaurant are welcoming, attentive, and friendly. Excellent spa, great masseurs Neehar and others. The hotel could think about updating showers and some towels are no longer brilliant white, bit grey, but very clean. The water taxi was not available one day as it was being serviced there is a bridge open in the day by the aquarium. "
"We love the south of Mauritius, less developed and more remote and rugged. Proximity to Le Morne and beaches and access to kite surfing.
We loved the day care and babysitting service, its was free to use and we used it alot! Certainly the best and easiest we ever experienced from any resort. Loved the staff and how they treated our daughter like family.
Good sandy beaches with rock piles near shore and all you have to do is dip your head in the water to see fishes.
Great place for family and kids.
Personally I think the food selection was limited for full-board meals. Paid for meal much better quality at the resort restaurant.
The pay for drinks / water option was annoying with the full board for I who dont drink alcohol.
Spa was excellent.
We thought the rooms are on the small side.
Where was the free coconuts? I didnt see any carts there when the property was loaded with coconuts. This was something Lux Le Morne had and included in breakfast. Disappointed about this."
