Perhaps the worst Taj I have ever stayed at.
The one word I would use to describe our experience at Taj MG Road is chaotic.
The only positive thing I can say is about the staff themselves. They were genuinely friendly, polite and helpful throughout. Unfortunately, the overall experience was let down badly by poor organisation and service management.
Despite having completed all the necessary formalities, including document checks, hours before we were due to check in, we were still left waiting for an unreasonable amount of time for a room to be allocated.
What made the situation even more frustrating was being repeatedly told, “10 minutes, sir, your room will be ready.” We were told this several times, only for the wait to continue. In reality, it ended up being more than 45 minutes. If the room was going to take that long, it would have been far better — and far more respectful to the guest — to simply be honest about the expected waiting time. Repeatedly giving a 10-minute estimate when the reality is significantly longer is extremely frustrating and, frankly, insulting to guests who are already waiting.
The whole front-desk experience during peak hours felt completely chaotic. It appeared that late check-outs, housekeeping struggling to turn rooms around, and an influx of arriving guests had simply overwhelmed the operation. There seemed to be very little coordination between the different teams, resulting in guests being left waiting without clear communication.
