This hotel was our favourite of the entire trip. The breakfast was delicious and fresh, they also offered free postcards to mail home including postage, there's an area to take a polaroid with the other guests who have stayed, and they have late night snacks. While definitely more on the pricy side, it's worth it to be on the island and beat the tourist congestion by staying on the island overnight. Totally worth the price!

This is an amazing hotel with a spectacular view from your room if you have a sea-view room. The island of Miyajima is a beautiful place and this hotel compliments its beauty with traditional Japanese architecture and furniture wile also offering the most very modern facilities for your comfort and relaxation while staying there. We had lounge access and the was great for snacks and afternoon/evening drinks. The dinner was exceptional with a five course meal that totally satisfied our varied palettes. The rooms are big and spacious with a strong traditional Japanese twist. And the beds were some of the most comfortable we had slept in on our many travels. The staff were just amazing also. So attentive and helpful. This is a gem of a hotel in the beautiful island of Miyajima. Added bonus is that the water gate structure is just a stone throw away. Would highly recommend.

We had a fantastic stay! The hotel is in a great location. The room was spotless, the staff were incredibly friendly. Breakfast was wonderful. Unlimited wine at night with all day provided snacks was a cherry on the top. I would recommend it to anyone to stay there who would plan an overnight stay on the island. Lovely hotel on the promenade overlooking the bay. We stayed 2 nights. Staff was exceedingly polite. Only problem is that everywhere to eat in town closes at 4-5 pm and the hotel offers only a very large prix fixe dinner that must be reserved in advance. A hotel in this price range should make allowances for guests who don’t want or need the full dinner experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Itsukushima Iroha. Wish we could’ve stayed longer than one night. Short walk from the ferry terminal. The staff was so wonderful! The snack/continental breakfast room was lovely. Our room was divine! We were upgraded to a sea view room where we could enjoy the famous Torii gate from our window. The hotel was so quiet and serene, even as the streets outside were bustling with island visitors. This stay was a definite highlight of our time in Japan.

lovely night in Miyajima

We had a lovely stay in Miyajima, a stone's throw away from Itsukushima Shrine. Our ocean-view room had a view of the torii gate of the iconic shrine. Everything about the room from that view to the bedding to the bathroom was immaculate. We also enjoyed a course (kaiseki) dinner facing the ocean, and Itsukushima Iroha catered to our vegetarian diet needs for dinner and breakfast. To top it off, our friendly receptionist suggested some lovely local sights after we asked for some recommendations beyond the shrine.

Best Hotel I have ever been to. Superior Room with sea side view is super nice, with a view on famous Miyajima Torii. Very spacious rooms with nice beds, Japanese style seats and desk on tatami mats and western style chairs and desk. Very nice bathroom with onsen style tub. Lots of amenities. Do better than I did and book more than on night. I prolonged my stay, but unfortunately sea side was not available. Mountain side is also nice, but sea side is the side that you want!
