Above and Beyond

Was above and beyond what i could've expected. The facilties were well kept and maintenanced, staff kind and helpful, rooms and spaces clean, hospitality through the roof with special "BBQ" social parties in the evening. The location was super short, direct, and safe shot to all of Hollywood.

Great little gated hostel with an awesome atmosphere. The staff were welcoming and fun. We took advantage of both the free breakfast and the bbq party (with a full free bar?!) and had a great time. We had a private room which was spacious, clean and comfortable. The location is a little shady, lots of homeless and tents but they keep to themselves and we felt safe behind the locked doors/gates. Just steps from lots of awesome food and shopping, super close to the main part of Hollywood blvd.

This property was an excellent value. For an economical price tag, this place filled all the requirements. Great staff! Very helpful and accommodating. Downside is the neighborhood outside is not the greatest. However, there is a big metal entrance gate that makes you feel safe. Quirky and charming hotel.

Super friendly, hard-working, helpful and professional staff. This place has character, I love it. It’s what you would expect from a hostel, nothing more nothing less. Hostels are places to meet other travellers, and we did here, with lots of communal space. The “tent city” others mentioned was merely 3 tents down the block; it’s not like we were fighting our way to the door through an army of homeless people. I do recommend this place.

Old Motel in Bad Area

This was an old motel that they put paint on to look nice. wouldn't walk on floor with bare feet. Its across from a homeless shelter and a tent town within 100 ft. Pictures are deceiving, Hotel staff was very good and accommodating.

The safety of the bldg was great, no one could just walk in off the street. There was a homeless encampment located beside it, you had to walk past to get anywhere, for the most part they were harmless, if we weren't from Vancouver we may have been scared, but we have many here as well. The staff were helpful and very nice, we had a hiccup with our room and it was switched to another. We were there for 5 days and would stay again.
