Stay here, you won’t regret it.

I stayed here on business with a colleague. The Manager is extremely eloquent and we shared a lovely drink with him at a local bar he was attending. Attention to detail is everything and a way of life here. The way their staff are looked after here is inspiring, the quality of Swiss life shines through is the service. I wouldn’t book anywhere else locally, I’d always choose this hotel in future, given the choice.

Kleines aber feines Haus. Schick und in klaren Designlinien eingerichtetes Zimmer. Sehr zentrale, ruhige Lage in der Burgdorfer Oberstadt mit guten Restaurants gleich in der Nachbarschaft. Das Hotel hat einen sehr geschmackvoll eingerichteten Speise- und Aufenthaltsraum für das Frühstück. Nachts ist das Haus nicht besetzt aber der Gast kann sich an der Bar bedienen. Das Haus hat ganz tolles Personal. Es gibt einen ungemein freundlichen, persönlichen Empfang und man wird beim Frühstück vom Personal verwöhnt. Das Frühstück ist ganz besonders! Es präsentiert Produkte der Stiftung und ist so reichhaltig, dass man bei einem Besuch nicht alle Leckereien ausprobieren kann - und wiederkommen muss!

Wir blieben eine Nacht in Burgdorf, auf dem Weg nach Chamonix — und bekamen mehr als ein Zimmer. Fünfzehn Zimmer im alten Kaufhaus Strauss, mitten in der Altstadt. Dachterrasse mit Blick über Schloss und Emmental. Das Essen regional und präzise. So weit, so gut. Aber stellen Sie dem Gastgeber eine Frage, und das Hotel wird doppelt so gross. Die Orchidee gehört der Stiftung Lebensart — gegründet 1784. Im ganzen Haus arbeiten Menschen mit Beeinträchtigungen. Man merkt es nicht am Service. Man merkt es an der Sorgfalt. Unser Gastgeber, Ferdinand Salverda, hat vier Jahrzehnte in der Schweizer Hotellerie hinter sich — Gstaad, Mürren, Meiringen. Jetzt führt er fünfzehn Zimmer, als wären sie ein Grand Hotel. Für ihn sind sie es. Ich fragte nach der Geschichte des Hauses. Er bedankte sich, dass ich gefragt hatte. Das ist Gastfreundschaft. Wir fuhren weiter Richtung Mont Blanc — mit einer kleineren Rechnung und einer grösseren Geschichte, als jedes Fünf-Sterne-Haus sie verkaufen könnte. Sehr empfohlen. Besonders, wenn Sie fragen.

Hotel elegante e confortevole, camera pulitissima e spaziosa. Dalle finestre si gode la vista sulle vie del centro storico, mentre dalla terrazza al quarto piano il panorama è sul castello di Burgdorf e sulle vicine montagne. La colazione viene servita al pian terreno dove le bravissime ragazze dello staff sono guidate dal signor Ferdinand, che coccola gli ospiti con garbo ed efficienza. Consigliatissimo!

Hier hat es uns auf unserer langen Reise am besten gefallen. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Alles wird gezeigt und das Konzept erklärt. Das Zimmer mit Balkon war super, sehr sauber und das Bett bequem. Das Frühstück bietet fast alles auf sehr hohem Niveau.

Selten haben wir einen solch grossartigen Service erlebt. Wir haben kurzfristig gebucht und während der Anfahrt wurden wir bereits vom Hotel telefonisch kontaktiert und gefragt, ob wir einen Parkplatz benötigen und sie sonst noch etwas für uns tun können. Der Parkplatz lag dann auch direkt beim Hotel und war sogar mit unserem Namen beschriftet. Vor Ort wurden wir mit einem frischen, kühlen Bier empfangen. Der Hotelmanager hat uns herzlich begrüsst und uns alles detailliert erklärt, inkl. der Stadt. Das Restaurant ist hübsch gestaltet und es gibt viele regionale Produkte, welche auch für zuhause gekauft werden können. Das Frühstück war äusserst lecker. Die Zimmer sind modern und sehr sauber und das Bett sehr bequem. Nach dem Einchecken haben wir dann das Roof Top besucht und einen wunderschönen Blick über Burgdorf mit dem Felsen und dem Schloss. Hier gibt es gar nichts zu bemängeln und neben dem Hotel ist auch Burgdorf einen Besuch wert. Vielen Dank für den fantastischen Aufenthalt. Wir kommen sicher wieder.

Klein aber fein

Das Hotel ist sehr sauber. Frühstück lecker mit selbstgemachten Konfitüren. Das Restaurant ist am Abend leider geschlossen, doch gibt es in der Gehdistanz viele Möglichkeiten.
