I stayed at the Row Hotel for one night for business travel.
The location was convenient for doing business at the Mass General Brigham Assembly Row facility. It is close to several good restaurants.
Everything seems new, clean, and well maintained. The room was spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable.
Shower and sink favored a rectilinear design aesthetic over functionality. The sink had an almost perfectly flat bottom, which made draining slow. The shower rain ran right along the edge without a significant lip; it was easy to slosh water out onto the bathroom floor.
The hotel compensates for a shower usability design flaw with documentation bathroom on how to switch between the Rainfall Showerhead and the wand, which I did need. I prefer showers that don't need a manual and do not have to be turned off to switch between shower modes.
The Row has the annoying Facilities fee. This led me to buy breakfast at the hotel to at least get a benefit from that fee. The hotel breakfast buffet was fine -- better than most; still, I would prefer to have had the choice to go to the nearby Tatte without feeling like I was throwing the facilities fee away.
If I had to do business at Mass General Brigham at Assembly Row two days in a row again, I would happily return, notwithstanding my petty complaints.
The Row is not an economical choice. For going into the downtown Boston or Cambridge area for other reasons, however, I would seek other alternatives.
