Beautiful beach
I stayed at the cucumber Hostel for 5 nights, to visit the famous ashizuri-misaki cape, and relax at the beach. The hostel is located 1 hour by bus from the Nakamura JR station, the hostel has a bus stop right in front of the door wich is very convenient. With the bus it takes you 1hour to the ashizuri.misaki cape, wich is very beautiful !! Oki beach is a 3 min walk from the hostel, no tourists there, just local surfers. I went there in April and the weather was really nice, so I could lay on the beach and swim in the sea :) The owners are super nice, they even drove me to the closest convenience store, wich is in a village 5km from the hostel. Thereto can find supermarkets, local stores, restaurants etc. You can take the bus to get there, but I've also just walked there because of the beautiful scenery. The hostel has futon beds and a traditional Japanese (shared) bathroom all is very clean. The owners is fluent in english wich was very good. I really recommend going there and chill out or surf there (there is a surfing school very close aswell) If you got a credit card issued overseas, you should get cash before going there, you can't get money at the Lawson, 7eleven is very far. i'd love to spend time there again.
