The hotel was very nice and very clean. The new keyless entry took a bit to get used to, but we managed. The door latches were a little loose and the walls are a bit thin. Other patrons were courteous as far as noise goes, but you could hear them occasionally. I hope you are not a light sleeper as the trains go through town regularly. (day and night).
The bed was great, very comfortable. Most hotels have soft pillows and this was no exception. Everything was very clean. The shower was nice with plenty of room and a nice spray head. It could use a little shelving. The light switches all worked although oddly configured, The light switch closest to the shower was for the medicine cabinet. The two on the opposite side of the medicine cabinet were for the fan and the shower. It's not a big deal but it seemed a bit odd. Towels, washcloths, soaps, and shampoos were of high quality. There were plenty of extra blankets in case it might get cold. And there were robes in the closet which were much appreciated. Darkening the room to sleep is possible although not totally effective.
This is the only hotel in Pawling as I was told by one of the local businesses.
