I think this B&B is way overpriced for what you get. Most of the rooms are dark with minimal lighting, not what you want on a tropical get away. Breakfast is very simple and is the same each day. We had 2 cockroaches in the room and one was actually IN the bed. I don’t know if cockroaches are just part of the deal being on protected eco land but to me it always screams “dirty”. Positive: within walking distance to everything.

We had a wonderful stay at Capitan Max. It was central to everything - ports, restaurants, entrance to national park (tortuga Bay Area). Breakfast was delicious and host was accommodating, leaving food out for us when we had early tours and helping us set up a taxi. Look forward to staying when we are able to make a return trip!

Captain Max keeps the B & B absolutely spotless. I love the Nautical theme atmosphere which shows Captain Max's love of the sea. Mateo, the son, is very helpful as well. They make all the guests feel welcome and looked after. I highly recommend Captain Max B&B to anybody who want to visit Puerto Ayora.
