6/10 Good

The hotel was situated in a lovely position right in the heart of Bourton on the Water which gave easy access to the shops, restaurants and water. The hotel also had a car park which is always a bonus. Inside was a nice warm feel to it and the staff were lovely and accommodating. The room however was small and a little tired in appearance considering the price we had paid and compared to stays in other hotels for less cost. Our room was also situated near to the outdoor seating area and bar which made for a noisy night but not unacceptable. The en-suite was tiny with the fixtures and fittings tired in appearance (rusty mirror for example) although I have to say the shower with its oversized head was a highlight. Overall it wasn’t unpleasant but not value for money in my opinion especially considering breakfast was an additional £22.50 per person and not included in the price. I wouldn’t not recommend this to others especially given its location but if you’re looking for something where you get value for money, I would consider other options.

8/10 Very good

The room was very clean and nicely decorated. The staff had the fan going to cool down for us since the heat wave was still going. The room had everything we needed but it was on the small side and had no A/C. Check in was very easy and parking on site was a great amenity. Breakfast was pricey and we decided to get pastries and coffee on the nearby coffee shop since we’re not big breakfast people. The hotel is very well located in front of restaurants and water running through the town. It’s a great place for families and pet friendly.

Charming inn right at the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water. It was a short walk to the shops and pubs/restaurants of the town. Chose it because it had a room that would accommodate three ladies on our little tour of the Cotswolds. Our room had two separate bedrooms, one with a large bed and then another with two twin beds. Bathroom was updated and roomy with a full tub and shower. Would be perfect for a family also. The inn was built in 1698 and has historical charm, but was nicely renovated. Lovely restaurant which we didn't have a chance to try, and a sitting area where we had coffee. Everyone was lovely and kind. Would highly recommend.

My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful stay at The Dial House in Bourton-on-the-Water, and we honestly couldn't have asked for more. We happened to visit during an exceptionally hot spell, with temperatures reaching 36°C, but the staff were absolutely outstanding throughout our stay, doing everything possible to ensure all guests remained comfortable and well looked after. Their professionalism, friendliness and attention to detail really stood out. Our room was beautiful and comfortable, the dinner and breakfast were both excellent, and enjoying cocktails in the stunning garden on a warm summer evening was simply perfect. The location is unbeatable too – right in the heart of the gorgeous Bourton-on-the-Water, making it easy to enjoy everything this beautiful village has to offer. Thank you to the whole team for making our stay so memorable. We will definitely be back!

The whole place was charming and full of character. Check-in was fast and reception took us to our room personally. The room was beautifully decorated. The bathroom was modern and clean. A nice selection of teas and biscuits. This is not a negative but something to be aware of; since the building is older and refurbished, the stairs are a little narrow and lean so make sure you are comfortable with navigating not so perfect stairs if you choose to stay in the upper levels. Back to the positives: the garden area was lovely with plenty of chairs to sit and enjoy, there were EV stations available, a small pub and restaurant to relax and unwind (we didn’t try it out, but the smells coming from the kitchen were wonderful). Most importantly, right in the heart of the village so you can walk to everything.
