I absolutely do not recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff are completely unhelpful. They didn't answer our questions upon check-in and were surly and rude. The management is indifferent and unhelpful towards hotel guests. There is no room cleaning, hygiene is zero. They didn't answer our questions about our young child. I definitely do not recommend it!!!!!!!! The children's play areas are dirty, most are broken or close early.

Tropical temperatur, and no AC.
There was also some noice in the night.
If there is a next time I will not choose tent.
Both the stay and everyting you needed to buy was expencive.

* Room was not avalible when we arrived - we were "forced" into another room. Therefore, didnt get the same type of room as others we were traveling with.
* On the day 1st full-day we got blocked (room, purchaes etc.) as when the room was changed, the reception had set us to 1 night stay instead of 3. It took approx. 30 min of showing Hotel.com confirmation and Bank statements to prove that we had paid for t he stay.
* on the 2nd full-day cleaning was trying to get us out of the room as they still had stated that we had to check out the day before. Again, we have to prove that we had paid for the stay.
* The alternative room we got did not fully work. Door card did not work, so we had to get a physical key instead. There were no soap in the room, we had to ask for some of the sheets to be changed as they did not look clean and we had to go to the reception to ask for toilet paper as there were only 1 roll for 4 people 4 days and there was no cleaning while we stayed there.
* Tropical Island in general lack employees, everywhere. Giant queues at the reception (between 30-60 min wait time) bar, restaurants without food (runs out around 7 PM but you pay full price). There's no toilets at the buffet area so you have to go out (that is fine) but they require you to stand in the line (to get a table, approx 15-20 min) to get back in side even though you have a table.
* I have 5 more items but do not have more space to write this review

The dome itself is set out well. Maps identify where all the pools are. There are only one set of showers (that we found!) centrally located.
Food is pricey inside the dome. €2.90 for a doughnut. We opted for the refillable cup €19 from 9am until 11.59pm. You could fill up from various machines every 45minutes. Lots of restaurants we went to Sawadee Buffett was €29 pp. Good selection of food.
The camping area was clean and toilets a short walk away. VERY VERY hot inside the tents and no AC.
Inside the dome was really hot.
The pools are good sizes and when we visited (August) it was busy there was still room. Some longer queues for flumes.
Been once and don’t need to go again.

It has an amazing potential, but just lacks quality at some important points. Service is just, none existing.
1. We had trouble checking in, the information level regarding this was a joke, took like 45 minutes but succeded in the end. Why? We don't know.
2. Our bracelets could not open our door (luckily the key could), annoying but not that big of a hassle. We went to the reception to fix it - service level was again very bad - ended with "we hope"... Did not work, and we gave up about that.
3. Dirty glass in the room, to few glasses/cups/towels.
4. Towel heater did not work. Called the "Please call us in you need anything at all number". "We will send someone" they said, never showed up. We called again the day after, but the phone just ended on voicemail. Send an e-mail, never received and answer - thats a week ago now.
5. Food, goods, services, games, you name it everything is just overpriced beyond whats reasonable. 5 euro for 0.5L of coke? Joke. I'll just grab some water then, is there some water fountains in one of Europes best countries regarding tap water? Nope, cause they want you to buy.... Coke, monster, beers, at overprice.
6. Food just wasnt... Worth the price. Cafeteria level, restaurant prices. Is there an alternative? Not really, and I know thats why the prices are unfair - but why not make them more fair, and get people to buy more?

Scam hotel - DO NOT VISIT
Check in took more than 1hr in tropical heat
Check in at the hotel part that we stayed at was closed and also breakfast, so we had to walk with the bags up and down in the pool area.
The room was not properly cleaned and there were dust balls on the floor.
Area for the smaller kids (which we have) was under construction and not possible to use.
Worst possible service from the staff & way to much people for what was open.
Plenty of things at the hotel that didn’t work, parkingmachine, Aloha Checkin, automatic checkout (only possible to check out automatic)
Do not visit this scam hotel - not worth it

The place is huge and is nice to relax and enjoy with small kids once you are at the water park.
Although there are not many rides but the kids play area is nice and the artificial beach effect is also great, the pools and jacuzzis are good too.
The family rooms Ohana are nice and clean but very far from the resort, not just far but they have made the access confusing kind of on purpose! There are no signs and it feels like a maze game to find your room, its not fun when you have small kids and luggage with you, the lifts are non existent and we had to drag or lift the baby stroller every time on the stairs, there is no houskeeping to provide extra amenities when finished. The staff at the check that attended us were very rude and non cooperative, the girl and woman kept on answering in German to the inquiries in English.
No one answers the phone at reception, we were told to come again next morning to collect extra towels and soaps( its atkeast 15/20min walk from our room including and down the stairs)
The place is nice but the management is very very weak.

Well, first the front desk person didn't give us a key. So I had to walk all the way back to reception to get the key. Then we noticed that there was no electricity in the room, so I had to walk back again. They told us to switch rooms and gave us the key to the next place.
The last thing was that the hair dryer didn't work.
Staff wasn't very accommodating or sorry for the multiple inconveniences.
Water park was amazing as usual and breakfast was delicious.
