The level of hospitality at the Elia Agia Marina Hotel is hard to put into words. The staff truly cared about each detail of our experience. The front desk staff were warm and welcoming. They arranged reliable taxis and even packed us a boxed breakfast when we had an early morning excursion! The breakfast buffet and lunch offerings were delicious and provided our gluten-free family with a variety of options, including gluten free bread! The rooms were spacious and clean. We loved the folded towel decorations left by the houskeeping team each day.

The location on the seaside is great. There is a private beach with sun beds for the use of the guests. Rooms facing the sea are very nice. Clean and well maintained. Breakfast is very good. The staff is nice and very helpful. We stayed for four nights, after two nights we asked if it possible to be moved to second floor (nicer view but somewhat smaller room) and after checking they have moved us up for the rest of the stay. All in all on a decimal scale I would rate 9/10.

First above all, the hotel is super friendly and has a great location. The staff became personal friends almost immediately. The rooms and drink/dining were way above expectations and the breakfast far exceeded anything we've ever seen. The beach and surroundings are gorgeous and welcoming with a visit everyday. Stayed at this hotel for 3 days.Great accommodations for a Family of 4: 2-story room with full bathrooms and A/C on both levels. Very nice property, clean, safe. Extremely friendly staff, especially front desk manager, Athena. Wonderful breakfast with great variety of dishes every day. The property is right on the beach with enough umbrellas and sunbeds for all the guests. It is only a 10- min bus ride from Chania. Highly recommended this hotel!

The hotel was beautiful and clean. Breakfast was delicious and the patio was overlooking the sea. The beach is perfect for kids, lots of sunbeds and umbrellas available. Good restaurants and some shops just up the street. Lots of parking if you have a car. Room with the loft was great, provided kids with their own space. Only downside is a lack of storage. We only brought one small carry on each, but there wasn’t enough storage or shelf space to accommodate our things. Otherwise, excellent stay and would love to return.

Our Go-To Choice in Crete⛱️

First, I want to emphasize that we are frequent travelers, and during our stay in Crete, we stayed at several hotels. However, Agia Marina Hotel & Resort stood out as the best. Here’s why: The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel is beachfront, located on what we believe is the best beach in Crete. Free parking was available, and the rooms were clean. Additionally, the hotel is surrounded by numerous taverns, making it convenient to explore local cuisine. The hotel met all of our expectations in terms of quality, making it well worth the price. A heartfelt thank you to the entire staff—we loved this hotel and will return every year❤️

Nice room with balcony. Everything is modern in the room. Breakfast is good, but could be crowded and at these moments serving dishes are empty. Not enough staff to serve, clean, and prepare tables. We were there at the end of the season. Cannot imagine how they are operating in the season. Beach is nice but the water is shallow and you need to walk for a good 5 min to be able to go deep in the water. Beach chairs are very low and not really comfortable. Nice comfortable chairs are around the pool, but only 4 of them, and you cannot move them even a little bit to get a shade. They do not open any umbrellas on the deck with the statement that it is a wind. Even if it is not. Food in the restaurant is not something to write home about, but if you are on the beach, lazy to dress and go literally 2 small blocks to the main street, this restaurant is very helpful. People that are working in the hotel are very friendly and helpful. Always happy to help with any situation. Territory and rooms, including common areas, are clean. Area is turisty, there are a lot of good restaurants, a bus is operating on the main street and will bring you to the nearest small cities. Renting a car is helpful.

Don't deserve high points

The location is a popular holiday place with lots of hotel selection. The hotel is in the middle of a big sandy beach, adjacent to other hotel and bars. I experienced some negative events such as a dark room in the entrance level, almost no sunlight and noisy. The breakfast is unexpectedly disappointing because in Greece you have generally great breakfast. They ignore finished fruits and other things in the open buffet. There were spiders in the room maybe because we were in the entrance level, close to the street. They renewed soaps and champoo two times during a week. The internet connection was very poor, we can only connect in some parts of the room and breakfast hall. The connection was totally inturepted during a day. There was no signal at the beach of the hotel. I had to wait half an hour for an omelette. They close the coffee machine at 10:30 sharply so you need to rush and get up as early as possible to be able to have a good breakfast. The hotel service personels were friendly. There is a big parking area of the hotel.

The family room was perfect for us. Total privacy for the adults on the lower level with the kids just upstairs. Room was beautiful. Bathrooms were modern and attractive. Beach was awesome. We stayed here for a week and had an epic time! Andreas and Manuel and the whole front desk staff really took care of us and helped with our needs - rental cars, excursions, airport transfers, etc. The hotel itself if a gem with a great beach front location. Great beach to swim in, with a life guard on duty nearby and warm clean waters. The breakfast had a fantastic selection and lunch/dinner at the hotel restaurant were also great. The sunset view from the hotel is amazing.
