5 star resort at 4 star pricing!!!
This hotel is amazing. The rooms are beyond beautiful and the staff is so accommodating! My family and I stayed in 2 rooms for 5 days after staying in a big name hotel in Mexico City that cost us double the price and was much less comfortable. At Casona Maria, they had robes and slippers, and freshly baked cookies waiting for you when you arrive with a personalized note thanking you for staying with them. The staff is unbelievably helpful and ready to make you feel at home. The restaurants have excellent food and the breakfast that is included is not at all skimpy. They have many meals to choose from and all are delicious. I have two very pick eaters in my family and the staff made sure they got everything they need and my children loved the food! In our room we had a sauna, a jacuzzi tub with fragrant bath salts and bubble bath which was cleaned and refilled daily as well as a stand up shower. The little soaps and shampoos were also refilled daily and they had a sewing kit and personal hygiene kit with tissues which I thought was a nice touch! Overall I cannot say enough wonderful things about this amazing little hotel tucked away in an up and coming neighborhood just a few blocks away from the zocalo! Can’t wait to go back!!

Exceptional 10.0
Excellent service and amenities
We had booked two rooms for three nights. The service was excellent. The front desk staff was very helpful with booking drivers to Cholula and Puebla. They went above and beyond to help us locate distilled water for our netty pot and trying to find a replacement camera charger. The hotel is quaint. Our rooms on the top (third) floor were spacious, clean and well-appointed. Our room had a steam room in it which was wonderful. Housekeeping did a great job. The included breakfasts were excellent and included generously portioned egg and meat dishes. Our bathroom had a window and both rooms had windows that opened to the inside courtyard area. The rooms were a little dark but this was not a problem for us. Although not located in the center of downtown, the location was fine because we were able to walk to everything in the historic center. There is a nightclub across the street and for a few hours in the evening, you can hear the music and dogs barking. If it weren't for this noise and the fact that the hotel outside the historic district, this would be the perfect place to stay. Overall, I would recommend this hotel based on the service, amenities and restaurant.

Good 6.0
Sketchy neighborhood, Rooms pictured inaccurate
We arrived at night and the neighborhood is very desolate and isolated. It’s a 5-6 minute drive to the historic center so not bad but disappointing. Also we were going to walk to grab something to eat and were told that it was not safe at all and that we should drive. Further every time we went to the car to grab a bag they locked the gates and door to the hotel which was very strange and concerning for safety. We booked through Orbitz which showed beautiful candle lit spacious rooms with canopies. The room we were given was nothing like the picture and extremely small. We complained and they tried to charge us an upgrade fee to get the room that was pictured. We showed them what was pictured and booked and they said it was a mistake and they are working on “getting the photos fixed”. Right. Finally they gave in and gave us the room it showed we booked but it was terrible as we had to fight for it after traveling all day, arriving late at night and as it seemed with no other visible life in the hotel other than us. The next day was better - the breakfast was good and the service was great. The hotel is nice but they have a few things to iron out. Unfortunately we just wouldn’t recommend it on location alone if you’re looking for something in safe walking distance to the historic center.

Okay service. Bit over priced. ここじゃなくてもいい。
Overall It's okay. Our room was VERY small and noisy. Comfy bed. Only window in the room is right besides the hall way so we never could open it even the room was lack of light. Location is good. We didn't get welcome drink, they asked us what we want to drink when we checked in, waited in the room for 20min, never arrived. So we went out and came back to the hotel, telling the front desk that we didn't get the drink, she didn't apologise but asked us again what drink we want, she said she'll send those drinks...never arrived.

One time stay for me
It was under construction when I stayed so it was a little noisy. The hotel is beautiful very historic feel. The double bed rooms I have to say are way to small for my liking- they are like a USA twin size not Queen. We had both dinner and breakfast there, the dinner services was great but the breakfast service was not great at all they took to long to get our drinks and meals. I don't think I would stay here again but overall it was ok.
