I had a terrible experience at Amber Light Villa, particularly with the receptionists. The other staff members, such as the housemaids, restaurant staff, and bellboys, were very nice and friendly, though.
When I checked in, the receptionist informed me that we would have to use the towels for two days without changing them. There were no complimentary bottles of water or coffee; they charged for everything. The restaurant's opening hours were from 8 to 10 AM and 2 to 11 PM, which meant we couldn't have lunch there. Additionally, since the villa is located in the middle of nowhere, there was no transportation available. As a result, I had to rent a small car for only two people at a cost of 75 Euros per day, and I had to buy water and coffee from grocery stores.
We stayed in a room that was supposed to have a hot tub, but it wasn't heated at all. The shower did not drain properly, and the bathroom became very humid after each shower.
On the day of check-out, the receptionist tried to charge me for five bottles of water and two coffee pods that I didn't use. She said she would check with the housemaid. When I inquired about the charges, she casually said, "It doesn’t matter." If I hadn't asked, I would have been charged for those items.
I tipped the housemaid $40 for her services, but I don't believe I should have to pay this resort for items I didn't use. The villa should have clearly stated that they wouldn’t change towels every day and adjusted their pricing accordingly.
