Make staying here a priority for your northern Portugal trip. It provides an amazing haven and break from the rush of travel. The grounds and village are heaven. Impeccably kept. The staff is kind, attentive, caring. The food is gourmet and local for extremely good value. The views are rejuvenating. The pools and sauna were spacious, clean and refreshing. I will find any reason to return! Muito obrigada!!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful architecture, nice countryside view

The 4-star hotel, occupies a century-old and renovated building, with a beautiful view of the countryside. I consider it good, but it needs some adjustments for this classification. 1. The staff is fantastic (especially Carolina, a restaurant employee, very friendly and helpful) and they always served us well. 2. The facilities are comfortable. We got an upgrade (from a single room in the basement to another for disabled people on the ground floor). The room is comfortable, although it did not have air conditioning, which made us feel hot at night as all doors were closed). The minibar is minimal, it doesn't cool properly. Adequate lighting, flooring, wall colors, decor OK. 3. The bathroom for people with disabilities: there is no support bench or vanity, the shower is very small, the access door is sliding and has no handle. I don't know how a bathroom like this was approved. 4. There is a large terrace, semi-covered, but without decoration, just a table and two chairs. 5. The room is very noisy due to the heavy rain that falls, as the gutters are very close to the room door. 6. The parking lot is very far from the reception, which makes it difficult to get to the reception on rainy days. 7. Features: The pool is OK, but there are two spas (one with cold water and one that doesn't work). Steam and sauna OK. 8. Breakfast: well served, nothing special for a 4 star hotel. There are regional products, which is very interesting. Overall, the hotel could be rated 3.5 stars.

Local muito sossegado e bonito! Funcionárias da recepção muito prestáveis e simpáticas! Quarto razoavel ,nota-se algum uso e desgaste,parede toda manchada ,o papel de parede a descolar-se em alguns sítios do quarto,tampa da sanita partida! O Spa mostra sinais de muito desgaste e na minha opinião precisa de umas obras! A sauna nem luz tinha,um dos apoios estava partido,o banho turco era impossível estar lá mais de um minuto, cubículo pequeno e completamente a arder ,fios de eletricidade soltos lá. O jacuzzi era bom ,a piscina notava-se uma lona por toda a piscina que tinha sido mal colocada e a piscina estava cheia de bolhas de ar por toda a parte! No restaurante o jantar foi excepcional,carne de muito boa qualidade,legumes bastantes bons ,as batatas fritas que pedimos em detrimento das assadas eram congeladas e para um restaurante "luxuoso" acho que ficou um pouco mal! Pequeno almoço frustrante,com o hotel cheio a pouca variedade deixou um pouco a desejar! Máquina de sumo de laranja só de exposição,que não tinha laranjas e estava desligada! Em Geral uma nota razoável com sinal mais para o sítio calmo e sossegado e para o corpo de funcionários do hotel! Espero que se um dia voltar os sinais menos sejam compostos!

Instalaciones bien, pero...

Es una pena que un hotel con tan buenas instalaciones y habitaciones tenga el personal que tiene. Salvo alguna excepción, todo parece bastante abandonado: gorros de baño obligatorios en piscina que nadie controla (y mucha gente no los lleva), como no hay vigilancia hay usuarios en la piscina con comportamientos inadecuados, el propio bar de la piscina no tiene camarero que atienda... Es una pena, porque está en un edificio histórico y en recepción nadie te explica nada, ni siquiera qué estancias o salas hay. Además, el desayuno es demasiado pobre. Resumen: demasiado caro para lo que ofrecen, sobre todo por parte del personal.
