We spent a week here for our anniversary and the setting is hard to beat. The resort is spotless, the lake and mountain views are postcard-perfect, and the staff were warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. If you want quiet, clean air, and scenery, this delivers. The tradeoff is isolation. Getting anywhere else in Switzerland means long drives on winding mountain roads, and the access road is single-lane with scheduled up/down windows, so you can’t come and go on a whim. Dining options on the mountain are limited and served at set times, which takes some planning if you have kids or a different eating schedule. Go in expecting a self-contained mountain retreat rather than a base for exploring the region, and you’ll love it. We did.

The location of the hotel is stunning! It was a great place to go relax and be in nature. I definitely felt like it was more of a good 3 star hotel. Not much personality, and the spa, although nice, is just too small for that many people, with no towels!!!! You have to take the one towel per person they give you in the room. Personnel were great and friendly.

Mixed Experience at a Scenic Mountain Retreat

Pros: -Scenic location amidst the great mountains and near a remote village -Friendly staff proficient in English Impressive amenities, including a pool, spa, and restaurant -Exceptional dog-friendly policies -Breathtaking views of the mountains and lake -Overall cleanliness and quiet atmosphere Cons: -Inefficient check-in after 6 PM process with only one staff member for two buildings -Arriving late (around 6 pm), we had to request a room change and building transfer; otherwise, we were considering leaving the hotel altogether due to initial dissatisfaction. -Two distinct buildings, with a significant difference in quality -Rooms in the other building do not offer value for money -Misleading description on hotels.com; it doesn't mention the building disparities -A lot of rooms in the other building have poor views (facing a wall) -Rooms in the other building are not well-equipped and organized -Construction site in front of the reception of the other building can be confusing and off-putting

Absolutely overpriced (which may be expected the night before New Year’s Eve), but in this case the price–performance ratio was simply not convincing. The service with the luggage at the gondola station was very friendly at first; however, we only learned later that this came with additional charges, which was disappointing. Check-in itself was friendly and efficient. The spa area is very nice and clearly a highlight of the hotel. The bar has a pleasant atmosphere, but the service did not feel professional enough to justify the overall price level of the Hotel. Unfortunately, a lack of basic guest care stood out: I developed a headache and had forgotten my migraine medication (my fault). As there is no pharmacy in the village, I was surprised that the hotel could not provide even a basic painkiller. It took two hours before a single paracetamol tablet was organized. Absolutely overpriced (which may be expected the night before New Year’s Eve), but in this case the price–performance ratio was simply not convincing. The service with the luggage at the gondola station was very friendly at first; however, we only learned later that this came with additional charges, which Lunch on the terrace was another disappointment: slow and inattentive service combined with very average food Overall, the experience would benefit from either more realistic pricing or significantly more consistent service quality. Das Zimmer war hervorragend, leider jedoch ohne Balkon. Das Abendessen war für uns eine grosse Enttäuschung. Ich musste meinen Teller sogar zurückgehen lassen – zum ersten Mal in meinem Leben. Das Menü war im Fine-Dining-Stil konzipiert. Mein Eindruck ist jedoch: Ein solches Konzept sollte nur angeboten werden, wenn die Umsetzung auf entsprechendem Niveau gewährleistet werden kann. Ansonsten würden wir uns deutlich mehr über einfachere, klassische Gerichte freuen, die dafür gut zubereitet sind. Der Spa-Bereich ist wunderschön, war allerdings sehr überfüllt. Hier wären beispielsweise Zeitfenster bzw. reservierbare Slots eine mögliche Lösung, um das Erlebnis angenehmer zu gestalten. Auch die Aussenterrasse war teilweise nicht begehbar und wirkte aufgrund einer Baustelle wenig einladend. Insgesamt hatten wir zudem den Eindruck, dass eine klare Führung durch das Hotelmanagement fehlt. Der gewohnte Kempinski-Standard wird dadurch aus unserer Sicht nicht durchgehend gewährleistet. Das Personal ist freundlich und bemüht sich sehr, sein Bestes zu geben – benötigt aber spürbar mehr Führung, Organisation und Management. Es gibt somit einiges an Verbesserungspotenzial. Wenn diese Punkte angegangen werden, könnte dieses Hotel wirklich ein Traum und dem Kempinski-Anspruch vollumfänglich gerecht werden.

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Das Restaurant war mittelmässig und wir haben erst nach der Ankunft gemerkt, dass wir im Kinderteil des Hotels gelandet sind (Lago). Man muss das Auto 500m weg parken und dann laufen (Gepäck ausladen ist möglich). Der Kissenservice ist gut, die Betten sind etwas hart.
