We stayed here for a long weekend in Mexico City and had a truly amazing time. The location is perfect, a block or two away from Zocalo. The hotel itself is built in a 17th century palace. Our room had an open floorpan with curtains for a toilet and shower door (so plan to bring someone you're close with) with gigantic ceilings and stone doorways with a lovely balcony overlooking Centro Historico. The restaurant and bar in the lobby was wonderful and in a courtyard, so when it was sunny and the roof was open it was even better. There is a pool and a hot tub on the roof with a rooftop bar. Unfortunately we did not use the pool as it was 60s and rainy that weekend. The staff could not have been more helpful and responsive to messages in English and Spanish. They even secured transportation to and from the airport. I couldn't recommend this hotel more and am planning on coming back as soon as I can as well as telling my friends to book here.

We had a perfect stay at the downtown hotel. It was an escape from the happy chaos of the Centro during the World Cup. This hotel fills so many needs. It is a historic building filled with important art pieces, it has great restaurants, an incredible atmosphere and a friendly staff. Highly recommmeded!

Fantastic hotel. The breakfast was a highlight. Be warned that the bathrooms, though beautiful, were “open concept”. The location between the Palacio de Belles Artes and the Cathedral, right next to a wonderful walking street was perfect. No taxis needed!

All the staff are helpful and friendly. The experience probably depends on which room you are allocated. I booked a queen room. It turned out to have no window, very dark, and the high ceiling gives a creepy feeling. I acknowledge this may be a personal taste.

The room was beautiful and huge. It was loud outside (our room faced the street), but with the fan on and the doors closed it was fine. We didn't need the ear plugs the hotel provided. Room was a bit dark with the windows closed, though. Lights were dim. Very romantic!

I suggested on our last nite that breakfast plates should be pre-heated especially that mornings are pretty chilly. On the morning we left, I got a nice surprise with an omelette, fried beans and sautéed zucchini with corn on a hot plate! Just the best!

Downtown Hotel Mexico, was fantastic. Great location in the hub of the city, a short walk to the main square & cathedral. The hotel is in a historic building, which has a lively vibe with 2 restaurants in its coutyard. For more of a relaxing atmosphere, head to the rooftop bar & pool, which have great views of the rooftops. Staff were extremely friendly & helpful, with the hotel in great condition, clean, given the age of the historic building. If you are after a quiet retreat, it may not be your cup of tea, but we loved it!!

Amazing hotel

The building is beautiful. The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were comfortable. We loved the breakfast with lots of different options. The pool area was very nice and relaxing and the roof terrace was really cool. It's a pretty small hotel, but that gives it a nice atmosphere. The location was right in the middle of the historical center and close to the airport.

The property is located close to a few historical sights and looks very nice. The breakfast was also great. Sadly, there were a few issues - the swimming pool area was closed one of the days, the sink in my room didn't drain properly, there was noisy construction on site one night that went on past midnight and the AC didn't work well.

The hotel is located in a beautiful ancient house in the centre of historic Mexico city. The courtyard with its restaurant is the real gem of the property. Staff was attentive and helpful. Our room was very spacious with a balcony over the street and a super comfy bed with the softest bed sheets. It was truly a luxurious stay!

Delightful Downtown Hotel

I travel to Mexico often and this cdmx visit was my 4th time there but first time at Downtown hotel. Great cheaper spot if you want to stay in the center. Rooftop pool was fabulous as was the rooms.
