A great new dorm! Much nicer than my dormsThe rooms are super spacious. A ton of people hung out here during the World Cup, and while the atmosphere was really fun and energetic, it never felt like an overwhelming party. Having ping pong and billiards around is awesome, too. Right in the middle of everything Toronto has to offer.

If you need a place to stay in downtown Toronto for a night or two, but don't want to pay exorbitant rates, the Oak House is your answer. Throughout most of the year, it's one of the student dorms used by the University of Toronto. During the summer, it turns into a hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the staff are friendly and professional. And the security is tight, too. It's also located close to public transit and a number of shops and restaurants. This was a last minute choice for me, but I am glad I found it.

+Nice room and large bed with a wonderful view from the window. - But one towel had a dirty stain. - There was a cleaning cloth on the closet that the hotel maid had most likely forgotten. - If you have an Android phone, you won't have internet.This is not normal

It was a great stay! We were pleasantly surprised that we had 2 connecting dorm rooms for the price of 1. They were clean and minimal. Just a bed, desk, dresser, and closet. Nothing else was needed. AC was good too and the view was amazing!

Like one would expect from u of t, it's an above average student residence. It's two beds in two different corridor-like spaces joined by a prefunctionary bathroom. The beds are slightly bigger than my daughter's grade school crib, but everything is clean. Nothing screams lap of luxury, but it also does not scream flop house. It's doable, but in a prime Toronto location.

A beautiful, brand new university residence. I arrived around 2:15 to check in but it was too early as check in time is only 4 pm. That's a bit late for check-in in my opinion, 3 pm seems to be pretty standard. Anyhow, they held my bags and I walked around the neighbourhood to kill some time and ended up coming back around 4:45 in a time crunch and they had mass confusion about my room and it then took another 15 minutes to check in while they tried to find out who they had given my room to and why it wasn't me and then allocate and check a new room for me...ugh... the rooms are basic of course but stocked with soap, shampoo and body wash...would be nice if there was a shelf in the shower for any of that stuff. Bed was comfy. Temperature control limited to cool to 20....not great for a cool sleeper. Check-out time is 11 a.m. which is early considering check in is 4 pm. Otherwise, a great walkable neighbourhood with good shopping and dining and easy subway access and a value for downtown Toronto, especially in this area where there is little other hotel-type accomodation.
