Comfortable bed. Good air conditioning (others we talked to said they had no AC or fan so they had a very different experience!). Good location. Basic room, clean. Nice breakfast (not a lot of variety but good). Shuttle to/from airport was helpful. Wifi was limited area but great where it was accessible. Tupa Hotel is primitive compared to a budget hotel in the US. No AC in any of the rooms & humidity is about 75-80% every day with temperatures only fluctuating a couple degrees per day & night. March 2026 78 during day, 75-76 at night. Only the receptionist speaks English. Breakfast is deli meats, cheeses, bread, coffee, tea, yogurt, fruit. The staff is incredibly friendly & do their best to accommodate your stay. Chickens, horses, dogs roam loose. Groups of guests can be extremely rude, self-righteous, and pretentious. This is a good choice to sleep & shower but luxury it is not. If you’re here to experience the island, stay at Tupa. If you’re here for a world class experience, pay a lot more to stay somewhere else.

Horrible condition. Roach motel, not for humans. Insect eggs and roaches everywhere, found in 2 rooms, after staff was supposed to have cleaned. Was unfortunate that we could not go to another hotel. Had to live through the nightmare staff. DO NOT BOOK!

Convenient airport shuttle. Convenient location that is an easy walk to main downtown area. WiFi only worked in breakfast area and was spotty even there. Rooms were mediocre/rundown - floors and walls were dirty. Hot water was sporadic. Bathroom was moldy. Bed was comfortable but had bits of dirt or sand and a couple of dead bugs in it. There is no A/C. It probably was a nice hotel at one point but has not been updated or maintained. Staff were helpful but did not seem happy to be there.

The hotel stated on Hotels.com that rooms had air conditioning so this is the reason we booked this room, however in arrival we were told that non of the rooms had air conditioning, so we were given a fan
The room was in need of refurbishment as it was outdated and a little grubby.

One of, if not THE WORST, hotels I've ever stayed in! We booked it based on previous 8-10-star reviews, but now I'm about to think that those reviews were either fake or made up. I really do not understand how someone can rate it 10 or even 8 stars. There is nothing good about it at all. It's hard to find any part of this hotel not chipped, scratched, broken, etc... The bath towel and bed sheets are smelly. The bed is uncomfortable. There is no WiFi in the room, only around the reception area. The breakfast is poor. And be ready to be woken up in the middle of your sleep by rustlers, they are right next to your patio door, in a couple of feet. I'm giving 1 star only because there is no option to rate it 0, or even negative 1. This "hotel" desperately needs to be fully renovated.

We booked a sea view room which in the Expedia description mentioned as a renovated room and were allocated to a garden view room that was far from being renovated.
On a hot day, the room gets smell of plumbing, there was insects in the room, we got a broken window in the bathroom and overall the room was very old, including the linen used in the bed.
Although there's the bad side, the hotel is in a very convenient location, you can walk into town and to the airport as well, and even tho the room was not the best, it had a comfortable bed.
The breakfast was a continental breakfast, simple but enough to get you going for the day. The transfers to the airport are a great service the hotel offers.
The best part of the stay was their team. The people working in the hotel were lovely and helpful. So, they made up to the down side of the rooms.

The room was substandard. The shower, sink and toiled drained onto a covered trough in our patio before going into a septic tank that's vent was less than five feet from the patio. The chairs and table for patio were flimsy. There was no WiFi in the rooms only some spotty coverage in the lobby. We had no hot water for showers for half of our stay. The property is home to what appears to be dozens of chickens with roosters crowing starting around 3 am. You have to keep the sliding door open, since all you have is a pedestal fan for cooling. Let's not mention the dead roaches everywhere... which makes you wonder were all the live ones are. Location was great, but the place was disappointing. I really wanted to like the place.

The staff were all wonderful— friendly and so eager to help with everything. The location was fabulous. Logistics were the only issue: no hot water, very warm room, the screen door didn’t lock and big gaps allowed mosquitoes in. Definitely works for an affordable place to sleep.
