Great stay, very relaxing hotel. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the food so ate the restaurant all 3 nights of our stay. Good selection of drinks at the bar too. Very dog friendly. 30 minutes away from Delamere forest which was great for shady dog walks.

8/10 Very good

While the room was big, clean and nicely decorated, and I must mention great bathroom, I find it difficult to understand why this is marketed as a 5 star hotel, and the prices are in line with that. This is a gastro pub with rooms and very helpful staff. We had a chicken and leak pie, and Cajun chicken burger, both with chips. And while they were okay that is not the level of food we were expecting. In the room unfortunately the TV had wires hanging below it, and an unused bracket. And we didn’t expect to see an electric meter in the room. I write this not to be mean, but to give other travellers a clear understanding of what to expect.
