The hotel is in an excellent location, walking distance from Sao Bento station and close the Ribeira area. Warm and friendly staff, who give excellent recommendations for Bars and restaurants. The room was beautifully designed, spacious and very comfortable. Would definitely stay at Hotel Timbre Virtudes again.

Beyond our expectations!

Everything was beyond our expectation. Everyone was courteous, helpful and friendly. The hotel is as beautiful as the photos. As a bonus, the hotel restaurant was excellent and the chefs prepared special meals based on some dietary restrictions. Signature cocktails were amazing!

Timbre Virtudes - Solitude and Luxury await

A beautiful hotel, only slightly off the beaten path. Porto is similar to Lisbon in the hills category and this hotel is great if you’re willing to hike or Bolt up, but so perfect when you finish the day at the water side. The team provides perfect service from dining, to check in to making sure you are enjoying your stay with welcome gifts. The balcony rooms are beautiful and provide a glimpse of the sunset views as does the rooftop area. The rooftop team also provides the perfect drinks and snacks as necessary. Our only hiccups were the WiFi and A/C malfunctions which were not worked out before we left.

Our stay at Hotel Timbres was wonderful. The staff is first-rate: helpful, personable, and friendly. The hotel is newly renovated, yet keeps the charm of its 16th century construction. Special treats such as chocolates,handwritten notes, and a bottle of port make the hotel even more remarkable.

This hotel is beautiful. It’s on a quiet street close to the Alfadenga Congress conference building on the Douro river. The building is built into a stone wall and beautifully refurbished. It’s about 6 blocks central from the Central part of old Porto. But the shortest way is uphill. It was our favorite hotel of our trip.
