This was one of the nicest stays I’ve ever had. Paolo and Franscesco were amazing hosts and gave us a full tour to understand the history of the castle. The breakfast was amazing and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. Wish I stayed longer but will definitely go back in the future.

Great place to visit, authentically restored castle ran by the descendants of the same family. Owner Francesco and his wife are very friendly, generous and very kind hosts. Even though the castle isn’t in the main traveler’s route, it is most definitely worth taking a detour to stay here!

Unique and wonderful! We stayed here because we wanted to see the flower fields near Casteluccio. We drove up from Rome in about 4 hours through beautiful mountains. This castle (a former defensive fortification) was a breathtaking sight at the end of the drive. We were warmly greeted by the owners, Francesco and his sister Lara. Our baggage was taken up the stairs via an amazing custom monorail. The room was comfortable and cool, the linens were excellent quality, our sleep was refreshing, and breakfast healthy and satisfying. They feature delicious bottled juices. Francesco gave us a tour of the fascinating historical interior rooms including the winemaking room with the grape stomping vats! I highly recommend Castle di Luco, we will treasure our stay here forever!

Absolutely magical stay and the highlight of our month long trip. This place is amazing and remarkably affordable this time of year (late September) Staying in an 11th century castle with suites rooms that have had the essentials very cleverly modernised without losing the stunning authenticity of the castle. Paolo took us on a wonderful tour of the castle including into its depths explaining all the history. Francesco was wonderful in making sure we were taken care of and Laura is an amazing chef. The breakfast has to be seen to be believed. This is a family owned property they have inherited and they have done an incredibly job of preserving and enhancing it. You wake up in the morning and have to pinch yourself to make sure you are not still dreaming. It even has EV charging in the car park which was great for us. (you don't want to pay European petrol prices!) We enjoyed ourselves so much we are making it our anniversary holiday stay every year from now on.

What a lovely place to stay!

What an amazing place! Free tour of the castle on arrival and it was great to learn about the history and the restoration. The staff are extremely pleasant and friendly. The rooms are decorated to a high standard with fully modern heating and aircon, I’d highly recommend to anybody wanting to visit the Italian mountains.

This place is a one of a kind and the owner Franchesco, his sister and son Damiano will treat you amazingly well and make you feel like family. Hidden Gem

Beautifully restored medieval castle run by a friendly and welcoming family. Tour of the castle is a must. High standard of accommodation. Tasting menu dinner is delicious. Everything was perfect. An absolutely amazing experience to stay in a Castle is beautiful surrounds. The restoration of the 11th century castle is incredible. Step stone walkway leads up to the entrance. Francesco was a wonderful host and we had a few laughs with translation oh for technology, son Matteo was very warm and knowledgeable as we explored all the rooms of the castle. It's a bit off the beaten path, which is exactly why we LOVED this property! We had the most incredible experience staying at this beautiful castle! From the moment we arrived, the owner was so warm and welcoming, making us feel like family. Their hospitality was unmatched, the free tour was so interesting, and they went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. The rooms were full of modern updates and well preserved history, and the food was absolutely incredible! Whether it was a traditional breakfast or a gourmet dinner, every meal was prepared to perfection. We couldn't have asked for a more unique and unforgettable getaway. Highly recommend! We're planning a return trip soon!

Fantastiskt vackert gammal byggnad som renoverats varsamt, fick guidning av dess historia som va väldigt intressant. Rummet fint och smakfullt inrett. Dessvärre fanns ingen restaurang öppen när vi var där och blev rekommenderade en i byn som va riktigt dålig tyvärr (Cantina di Nenè). Hade varit trevlig om det funnits nån bar / välkomstdrink. Annars allt toppen.

L'accoglienza è stata superlativa e l'atmosfera all'interno del castello.è veramente speciale. I proprietari, che vivevano precedemente nella fortezza arroccata su uno sperone roccioso, mettono l'ospite totalmente a proprio agio e offrono pure la possibilità di una visita guidata dell'intera struttura con riferimenti storici e aneddoti del passato della loro famiglia. Il maniero è stato ben restaurato di recente. Se siete in zona, vi consigluo vivamente di soggiornare nel Castel di Luco: sarà un'esperienza unica!
