Wow. What a find. We stayed for a week at Profumi di Primavera and couldn’t have enjoyed it more. It is a very rrecently refurbished property, typical Italian in that it looks nothing from the outside but when you get through the door it is really lovely. It is really well situated on the edge of the old part of town so nice and quiet but only 100m to beautiful old square which is full of great restaurants and has one of the best views of Matera. Also within 100m are a good supermarket and a pharmacist. The two ladies who run the bed and breakfast were absolutely lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful. They also own the cafe next door where breakfast is served which was plentiful tasty and fresh. I would highly recommend Matera and particularly Profumi di Primavera

Comfort and elegance in an ancient city

We were warmly welcomed by the two sister owners. The guesthouse has been recently renovated and redecorated with restrained elegance and mindful of comfort. Bed king size, with comfortable mattress and fine Italian linen. The bathroom large with separate chromotherapy shower. The small balcony faced a narrow residential street where no motor traffic is allowed, so it’s quiet. In any case, the windows are soundproof. Don’t forget to admire the beautiful frescoes in the rooms and common guest spaces by a local artist, of the wildflowers of the Puglia. Location of the guesthouse is perfect. We arrived by car and had no difficulty finding the address. There is public covered parking across the street. The historic and archeological sites are steps away as are many excellent restaurants and bars. There is a small caffe also belonging to the guesthouse where they serve excellent coffee, pastries, etc. Here, in a private area reserved for the guests we had a delicious breakfast, abundant with sweet and savory delicacies typical of the region. The sisters ensured we were well looked after. Grazie mille for a most wonderful visit.

Las dueñas son muy amables, el estacionamiento es en la calle pagando por horab1 euro. El desayuno es malo en un bar afuera y no se puede repetir el cafe ni el jugo, te lo cobran. La habitación que nos dieron era con el techo en bajada y me golpeaba la cabeza. Nos ofrecieron otra pagando una diferencia. Esa habitacion que nos dieron no se puede ni ofrecer.
