This was an adorable state that I would come back to you again and again. It’s at the bottom of the canyon so not a lot of other amenities in the area. The restaurant across the street was great. The property is just gorgeous with walking past right near the creek. It was also incredibly pet friendly treating our dogs like part of the family.

Room was clean and comfortable, and the rustic lounge was welcoming and enjoyable. Excellent coffee in the morning is free to guests. Food options are limited, and the one restaurant across the street served very good food, but was quite expensive. Driving to the town of Spearfish isn't a practical option, especially navigating the canyon after dark.

Beautiful in the fall! LOVE the decorations and the staff around 24/7. My only complaint is that the shower and bath water wasn't hot enough. I forgot my bathing suit so I did not get to enjoy the nice hot tubs on the deck. My husband and I celebrated our Anniversary with fall hikes to the Friendship Tower and the many falls in the area. We saw the mountain goats in the canyon, which was a first for me. I loved the creek right next to the Lodge, plus the common area and restaurant across the street! We will be back.

Loved the outdoor hot tub. We had a beautiful view of the sunset. Will stay here again. But, will not eat at the restaurant across the street again. They do not clean/wash/wipe down their tables. Our table that they seated us at was dirty and we witnessed other tables not being wiped down. So gross.

The location of the lodge is spectacular, and the lodge is beautiful. The staff were wonderful. Our concern is that there is a lot of tourist traffic and the rooms just aren’t kept very clean. This is a tremendous property and they just need to put in the effort to do some deep cleaning and probably some refreshing or remodeling.

Few issues with the cabin on arrival, staff was great went out of their way to make it right! WiFi is suspect and little to no cell service but, your in the black hills….its not unexpected. Food options are minimal and expensive
