Orchard Garden Hotel, San Francisco

San Francisco hotels are among the most expensive in the world due in large part to finite options and the likes of Amazon, Google, Netflix, and other enormous companies that can afford - and drive up - the prices of hotels, particularly during conventions. The Orchard was a relative bargain at about 275 per night with taxes. Sadly, this is beyond the means of your average family looking to vacation in SF. In the coming week, when Salesforce holds its conference, rooms at the Orchard will go for about 1,000 a night. Whatever the market will bear. Good luck to ordinary folks finding an affordable place to stay in the Bay Area.

The room was clean and I felt like I was in a solid hotel with a good location. I stayed in other non-branded hotels in the area and this was by far the best one yet. I would definitely return to this when I am back.

No hot water.

We stayed there 2 nights October 11 and 12th. The room and location was good. For spending almost 500 a night my son and I were surprised that we received 1 decaffeinated and one regular coffee pod not even one for each of us. The coffee was a terrible off brand and tasted like dirty water. . Its a silly thing for what is otherwise a nice hotel to go cheap and start everyone's morning complaining about the place.

Definitely stay here if you are undecided in this price range and general location (and do not require a bar in your hotel). Super clean; location ideal for both financial center and sightseeing, not too far uphill for walking from Financial Center. As a single female traveler, I felt safe and respected. Pretty quiet considering location is so centralized. Comfortable and super clean rooms; fairly recent build from eth ground up and energy efficient so key card activates power for the room. Great pillows. Smooth elevator, beautiful art pieces in lobby and hallways. All staff encountered were absolutely professional and very helpful and considerate. Loved being able to keep my luggage in the hotel after checkout during final day of my conference. Simple retrieval and then a pre-arranged shuttle pickup made departure a breeze. Doorman was super kind and helpful. Didn't get a chance to get up on the rooftop but looking forward to another visit where that can occur.
