Gran Hotel Ciudad de México is beautiful and was very quiet, even though it was fully booked. The staff were attentive and professional. We were welcomed with champagne and found chocolates in our room. As Expedia VIP members, we were upgraded to a suite overlooking the Zócalo. The view was amazing. The lobby ceiling is also worth seeing in person. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast, especially making our own waffles. The dinners were disappointing. Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel with excellent staff and a great view.

Very nice historic hotel with nice bedrooms and an amazing view from the restaurant. Breakfast is quite expensive (not included in room rate) if you're not really hungry / don't want much from the buffet but food was good. Hotel staff very helpful. Restaurant staff less attentive in the evening - had to chase a number of times and food was a bit cold because they just left it waiting on a tray near our table - but breakfast service is much better. In the evening I would recommend just having a drink to appreciate the view of the square rather than eating there.
