We stayed two nights, and the location is great because it is at the end of a busy street and right next to the river. It was quiet (except for the train that goes by but I’m fairly certain you hear that all throughout Banff) and clean. My disappointment comes from the cost and lack of things, I’m assuming because it’s ‘high season’ and was a long weekend - we paid just over 400$ a night for two double beds. That already in itself is a lot and I wouldn’t have chosen to stay for the price however there were no other choices or only more expensive ones left.
The beds are ok - they aren’t horrible and they aren’t super comfortable, they get the job done.
There is NOWHERE to plug anything in- this is an obvious OLDER building, and their choice of toiletries, pretty sure I could have picked up better quality things from the dollar store. The lamps are original or from early 90’s, and they could easily replace with some led lights with usb plug ins. Overall rhe place is clean, visibly old - tiles missing ( which are only the stick on kind) wall paper peeling all throughout the room and bathroom, toilet was questionable - and to top off our 400$/night stay, we got the state of the art white plastic chairs for our balcony.
Would I say NOT to stay here? No. But despite their reasoning for their prices , I wouldn’t pay that ever again. That’s the most I’ve paid for a room per night and while it wasn’t horrible, it wasn’t worth what we paid. Shop around.
