Standard rooms recently refurbished and bathroom clean and smart, but only internal courtyard views, so if you like the pictures on the listing, you will need to make sure you book a higher grade room. Street parking possible but only slightly cheaper than using the hotel's parking. Good breakfast in a first floor room overlooking the main square. Very handy for all the city centre sights. Hotel bar is very well located for the evening sun on the edge of the square.

Excellent central location with everything within walking distance. Parking at the hotel was also a big plus. The breakfast was varied with a good selection. Our room was spacious and very clean, with excellent housekeeping, good towels and a spotless bathroom. Unfortunately, the welcome at check-in was rather cold and we did not feel particularly welcomed. However, the other reception staff we met afterwards were helpful and friendly. I had repeatedly requested a room on a higher floor, as the hotel has seven floors. We booked two rooms, but both were on the second floor and faced the courtyard. The rooms were also noticeably different in size, with one considerably smaller than the other. The furniture and interior décor felt rather dated, and the rooms would benefit from updating. The lighting was adequate during the day but too dim in the evening, and the bathroom could also have better lighting. There were too few power sockets, I had to unplug the bedside lamp to charge my phone. A major disappointment was the Wi-Fi. It measured only around 7 Mbps, compared with around 198 Mbps on our own mobile connection. For a modern four-star hotel, we would expect much better internet. We wanted to mirror programmes from a tablet to the TV, but the Wi-Fi was too slow, so we had to use our phone as a hotspot. The bed and duvets were comfortable, but the pillows were very soft and flat. Overall, the hotel was clean and well located, but it felt more like 3-star than a 4-star.

Fantastic place to stay

First class experience all around. Was able to check in early and the front desk, restaurant and housekeeping were friendly and helpful. On day of departure I left early and the even packed a breakfast to eat on the train back to Prague. An extra bonus - Christmas market was right outside during my entire stay. I would highly recommend!!

The desk staff was very nice and the room was REALLY comfortable. The hotel appearance is elegant. The restaurant was much more causal than we thought it would be, and very loud. Food was good. Server pleasant.

Historical stay

All in all the hotel is unique! They have many rooms hidden in the back, some can get lost with the floors and stairs, but once you know your way it is fine. The location is great, in the heart if the square. Restaurant has the services that one would want and the breakfast selection was complete. Replenishment was also quick and frequent. Overall, a very nice experience! Parking is the only negative, but they do advise you at the front desk, so your options are clear.

Short stay at the Grand Hotel Zvon

Room and hotel in good condition and comfortable. The breakfast was very enjoyable and overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The only downside was reception as when we asked for some additional milk shortly after arriving (only 2 little capsules were left in our room) we were told some would be sent to our room BUT none came. Disappointed as other hotels we have stayed always obliged.
