"Nice bungalow with good outdoor spaces, but with a few issues - some strange lighting arrangements where you have to plug a cable in to turn on a light, and the bedrooms are tiny, with a very noisy/squeaky bunk bed in one of them Decent shower, and kitchen seems well equipped. We were not told that soap and toiletries are not provided, but the host was very communicative and helpful, and dropped some off for us anyway."

"Great hotel with an even better restaurant This was the best dinner we had at a van der valk property, breakfast was very tasty as well but they ran out of the basics often… The facility is not luggage friendly with stairs at the front entrance and reception without luggage ramp. Room temperature could only be set to warm or warmer.. Basic maintenance is needed in the room Bath grab handle loose, silicone sealant in bathroom cracked everywhere . No usb plugs in room en not enough power outlets...

"We really enjoyed our stay here at the castle. The amenities were wonderful, the room was very comfortable, and all the facilities at this location were wonderful. We also enjoyed a lovely cup of coffee at the basement café. We did want to mention to the maintenance crew that the armoire in our room, where the robes were stored, had a very strong smell of spray paint. We would recommend that either the room be left open to fresh air with those doors of the armoire open. Or maybe to take the...

"Perfect location for my requirements with pleasant check-in, value-for-money room, acceptable air-con, fast wi-fi speed (I wish all business hotels were this quick). Ate out for evening meal but breakfast was plentiful and good quality. Bathroom was good but the shower screen was terrible. Might as well not have been there! Why can't hotels grasp that guests don't like a paddle on the floor after a shower!!!"

Despite the fact that everything seemed nearly perfect, there are some things to be considered: The room was immaculate apart from the unusable toilet brush. "The bed was soooooo comfortable and the staff was very helpful - not just professional but friendly and welcoming. We had a small issue with our car, we parked it in fron of the hotel to check in and by the time we got back out, there was a police officer writing us up. The officer saw we really were unloading and cancelled the ticket, but the staff got quite upset as they normally have an arrangement with the police that before writing up someone on the special spott "for unloading only" they check with reception if the people are indeed checking in and I just know the emlployee must have given him an earful when she spotted him..."
