8/10 Very Good

Wonderful hotel in the heart of Aachen, plenty to do nearby and super close to many good restaurants, bakeries, shopping etc. The hotel and room itself are beautiful and wonderfully updated. Everything in the room was modern, comfortable would absolutely stay again. The only downside was the receptionist that checked me in while courteous, wasn't the best. For example during the time that I was being checked in she was talking to her colleague while handing me forms without instruction. Additionally, I was just handed the keys no instruction about room number, not about hotel facilities etc. It was less than stellar hospitality. However, if ever in Aachen again I would stay again in hopes of better hospitality from reception.

The motel is in a very convenient location. However, the front desk staff is uniformly rude, condescending, arrogant, and overall offensive. Sadly, they each confirmed our prior and current experience that Germans are the unfriendliest people in Europe. Exception: the bartenders - gracious, kind, engaging...all a good thing, as the front desk would drive anyone to drink. Your reception staff has no place in the 'hospitality' industry, for they are completely inhospitable. Germans, as a rule, are inhospitable people; we will never stay at a Motel One again, and hope to never have reason to return to Germany.
