Calm city-center hideaway with skyline scenes

The Carlton George Hotel plays both sides of Glasgow, city buzz outside, calm contemporary spaces within, built for switching off. The lobby channels a snug library mood with a genuine 19th-century antique fireplace surround and a Latin maxim above reception. Up on the seventh floor, Windows Restaurant brings panoramic skyline views through its window-lined design.

The hotel is right down the street from the train station (Queen Street). It was perfectly located near Buchanan Street, the subway, the Royal Theatre, restaurants and shops. The front desk employees allowed us to store the luggage since we were leaving later in the day. The staff were so friendly and helpful with giving us directions- very patient! The stay was very relaxing in the middle of a hectic travel schedule- highly recommend!

Lovely room - clean and comfortable bed and not bothered by street noise. However, felt like the next door room were in mine - very noisy until 1am. Nice comp minibar, bathroom clean but shower not that great. Staff super friendly and helpful. Room was ready before check in time and baggage storage after checkout was available.
