This review is unnecessary because this resort is being closed in the next few weeks. It will be razed to the ground and remodeled over the next 3 years. There was an astonishing lack of seafood. Most food was just warm. Staff was overall friendly and helpful. Room was absolutely not the one I thought we were getting. Took us 4 of our 7 days to get the minifridge working for our kids room. This is important because you cannot drink the water in the resort and you must rely on bottled drinks. Room service was quick and people spoke a lot of english which we appreciated, though we did try to learn some spanish as well. They had a lot of amenities and fun activities. Beaches are absolutely not as clear as the pictures, the water is super muddy. Bare bones are, it was not worth what we paid but it was filled with nice enough staff and was a nice place to go while our home was dumped on with over a foot of snow. Kids are welcome and they have a great kids program, the explorers club. Pamela specifically was so nice. On the last day we realized that the water from the shower had given my partner double pinkeye. I blame him for not taking the warnings seriously enough, you can't even brush your teeth with the water. Room was a room, it was broken in many areas and you can tell they are giving up on things due to closing. Housekeeping staff is fantastic, very much appreciated! People made it more worth it than the place.

The food, whether at the buffet line or specialty restaurants, was poor. No taste! As for the specialty restaurants, the staff in general were ok, but we had a few that would serve the food as though they were in a hurry and when you barely finished, they were on top of you picking up your plate as though they needed to be somewhere quickly . In a hurry to get rid of you. Very uncomfortable feeling. We were advised the hotel is closing permanently, so I assume that was the reason for some of the attitudes!
