Hotel facilities are excellent, staff friendly and attentive, food very good. To be super critical we stayed in room 113 and spent large amounts of time listening to the floor boards creak from the room above. Ceiling down lighter with holes needed to be filled in and put next to the water fridge in the grill on our evening meal meaning we were constantly disturbed. These are minor as the hotel is great.

The hotel, location, staff, facilities and services were all first class for our two night stay, as should be expected at a five star. Our room in the Auld Hoose, was exceptional, with complimentary mini bar and snacks, full satellite TV, roll top bath and beautiful furnishings. Dined at the Tavern and the Cameron Grill, which were both excellent. Live acoustic entertainment both nights in the Tavern and The Great Scots Bar, which provided a great atmosphere in the evenings. Room service for breakfast was a great relaxing way to end our weekend so we didn’t feel rushed out the door. We didn’t use the in house pool or cinema but they are great options.

Breakfast was extremely disappointing - “hot” buffet items were lurk warm, quality and looks of the food were terrible - sticky sausages, wet scrambled eggs and soggy bacon. Mushroom looked like they came out of a tin and cooked tomatoes had barely been exposed to a grill for a few seconds by the looks of them. The atmosphere and lay out were also far below par given the hotel venue - felt like a canteen on a cheap cruise ship. Bar felt very “common”
