The hotel is lovely, well situated and very clean. Staff were few but very pleasant Spa was ok, but pool not very big Food was high quality and well presented Booked on line for restaurant, but no record of bookings when we checked in. All in all 7out of 10

Third time staying here and staff as friendly and helpful as always, cannot fault them, and special mention for Moses on the reception desk. But the room and parts of the hotel are starting to look a bit tired and shabby. Bed especially was very scuffed up and needs replacing, Hotel needs some TLC, and also a working dishwasher as few items of cutlery and cups/jugs were still a bit dirty. Good of the hotel to refund £40 though as spa pool was closed for a refit during our stay.

A beautiful hotel in a perfect location in Grasmere away from the more crowded areas of the south Lake District. The hotel is clean and well-maintained with helpful staff and a very welcome health spa with jetted pool, sauna and steam room. The location on a beautiful lake opposite the historic William Wordsworth Dove Cottage really could not be more ideal. A five star experience: we extended our stay due to the excellence of the hotel and it's ideal location.
