Noisy and older hotel with great pool
The good: hotel was perfectly located in the center of Ka’anapali, right on the beach, and next door to Whalers Village with many restaurant options nearby. Staff we encountered at hotel, restaurant, and spa were very friendly and nice. The massage at beach cabana was excellent. The pools for kids looked like a lot of fun for little ones but we didn’t use it. The bad: it’s an older property and the rooms shows. We had an ocean view king and it was pretty small for two people, if the sofa bed was open I’d imagine you’d be on top of each other. The closet and bathroom were tiny, and no fan in the bathroom, so smelled a bit moldy. We were there in mid February, not the height of summer or holidays, but the whole place felt very packed and crowded. Elevators and restaurants were always full and the whole place was pretty noisy with music blasting from what seemed like different locations competing. In the evenings when we sat on the balcony (4th floor facing pool and ocean), all we hear were competing music and people, not at all peaceful or relaxing. So we didn’t sit on the balcony anymore. Overall I don’t think the hotel is a good value. Maybe if you are a family with young children who might enjoy the water slide pool and don’t mind being packed in…

The hotel is very attractively landscaped. For the high price of the room and the $40 resort fee, however, it doesn’t offer a lot other than a decent room and swimming pools by the ocean. There are very few hotel activities that do not cost an additional amount. The towels and soap are not of the quality that you would expect. I guess for the price of the room I expected higher quality of service and amenities.

Beautiful grounds, great location
The grounds are absolutely beautiful, service was great, and location was great. The rooms and grounds were clean. Our only complaints were that at first we were placed in an accessible room, which when we were eventually moved, we realized that there’s quite a discrepancy in quality between the accessible and non accessible rooms - and felt like we had lost a night in a high quality room. The other complaint is that parts of the pool area were closed multiple days for private events which was a bummer.
