Overall a tremendously helpful staff in a beautiful, accessible location just off of the Foggy Bottom Metro stop. The room was clean, with a well made bed and nice fluffy towels. The food is good, if slightly overpriced even by Hotel standards. Very close to 5, but there were some edges showing in the overall experience. Areas of improvement: hard mattress, outdated TV system, curtains and drapes were clean but not pressed and would not close completely due to gaps from wrinkles, and there were issues with the water pressure--these are mostly minor things, but in aggregate detracted from the stay.

This hotel charges $50 for early (a couple of hours before 3pm) check in, even though they had plenty of rooms ready. The only water in the hotel is a $10 bottle in the room or tiny glasses of filtered water from a basement dispenser tucked away from anything else. Their boiler was not working when I was there and they had no hot water. Great location.
