This was an amazing experience. Picked it because it’s the perfect jumping off point for Elafonissi and surrounding beaches. But what surprised me most was the incredible hospitality and family feel—the owners had hand written me a note with all the important locations and spent time explaining anything we’d need to know. So friendly, I was blown away.

The property was beautiful, clean and well equipped lovely products in the bathroom, fresh towels and great breakfast. Maria and Nikos were the perfect Cretan host with all the warmth and kindness that only the Cretan’s can offer . We temporarily lost our car key they jumped to help us, collecting us from the salt lake pouring balm ( wine ) to soothe our troubles and then returning us to the salt lake and our vehicle , once we had realised we had stashed the key in a beach shoe thank you guys you really saved us Much love and warmth Annie & Lee x

Rooms were very clean. Staff was amazing! Maria and her husband Nikos are some of the best hosts we’ve ever met. She gave us a list of nearby beaches, provided beach towels, water and offered umbrella as well. Updated building and you can definitely tell their attention to detail in caring for it. The view and sunset from the room was beautiful! Their restaurant across the street had delicious food (had diner & breakfast) and very convenient and their staff was excellent.

A wonderful visit on Cretes Wild West coast to friendly, happy & helpful Maria & Nikos operating his family’s third generation hotel & restaurant on a quiet hill overlooking Stomio Bay. It’s just 10 min drive from the beautiful pink sand Elafonisi Beach plus other pretty beaches. Nice clean stay wished we’d had more time to visit!

Staff were very friendly. They provided us with local recommendations to beaches and site seeing. They were proactive in reaching out about arrival time. Convenient for travel to beaches along the coast and to markets. No elevator, so keep in mind for luggage purposes when staying here—ask for help. Check in and out was extremely easy. The view was amazing. Amenities beautiful and clean.

Staying at this hotel near Elafonisi was the highlight of our vacation in Crete. The staff was incredible, especially Maria. She went out of her way every day to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. She made an itinerary for us for things to see and do. Her recommendations made our vacation truly enjoyable and memorable. The room was perfect with an incredible view of the ocean. The restaurant on the property is lovely. They have the best Moussaka I have had in Greece. Sunset views while dining for dinner were amazing. The pool is clean and a great space to relax.

Maria was absolutely fantastic, could not recommend more. Gave us all of the local knowledge we needed to make our stay in the area amazing, and gave us beach towels, snorkels and an umbrella. Along with her phone number should we need to WhatsApp her and ask anything. The perfect amount of being so friendly yet giving us our space and privacy, asking if we needed anything whenever walking past us on our loungers for example. If you’re going to this area, stay here without a doubt!

The Glykeria hotel is just a well maintained, clean and very spacious hotel but what makes it very special and somewhere we will return to is the amazing family that run this hotel and restaurant. Nothing is too much trouble and we were given a very personal handwritten note from Maria of recommendations for beaches and places of interest. We were given beach shade and towels to take with us to the beach at no extra cost. I cannot speak more highly of this hotel and I am fussy so see you all next year x

Staff were amazing (particularly Maria and her handwritten list of recommendations!) - the pool was a nice size and overall quiet location at night. Rooms were a good size and lovely sunset views across to the sea. Convenient location and if you have a car, everything is very accessible and a short journey away. Breakfast was simple and expensive for what it was (the avocado on toast was circa 8-9 euros for avocado and tomatoes on a store bought square piece of toast), but it’s not included so guests can get provisions from the supermarket which is a 10 mins walk away down the road.
