Lovely old pub with friendly and helpful staff even when I pitched up early the room was ready. Lively nights sleep in a spotless room and large breakfast to set me on my way. Would definitely recommend as a place to stay especially if you are attending a wedding a Chaucer barbs as this a very close location

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by a friendly member of staff. Our room was beautiful, clean & everything we needed, tea & coffee were provided along with bottles of water. We ate in the restaurant that night and our meals were great, I had homemade curry, hubby had pie. The service was excellent. I would highly recommend this place to stay, we will return.

The staff were probably the most welcoming I have encountered. They did everything to make sure my visit was good and I felt as if I was some sort of special visitor. The pub and restaurant also served outstanding food. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Such a unique hotel! Loved the pub downstairs. Staff and patrons were very nice and fun to talk to. Breakfast was amazing… not only the usual buffet of food, but you could also order off the breakfast menu, everything included with your stay. Our room was small, but fine for a night; the bed was comfortable.

Clean, spacious room, really comfy bed, huge fluffy bath sheet towels. Only slight gripe is there is only one plug socket in a really unhelpful place, far from the bedside. And if I was being really picky... The lighting in the room isn't great! Helpful staff, good breakfast - Would stay here again!

Lovely place to stay, bathroom was cozy but adequate for a 1 night stay. We ate in the main pub and had a really lovely meal. Breakfast was 1st class, no complaints. Would stay again.

Hey. We did love our stay at the Wheatsheaf. And would definitely return. But not in high temperatures, the room was lovely but so hot we couldn’t sleep. The staff were amazing and attentive, the food good, the breakfast was delicious. As I said, we would love to return.

My sister and I were on a two-week tour around England and this was definitely our favourite stop-off! It had a lovely warm, friendly and informal atmosphere, the room was great and so was the food. Would really recommend it.

Good parking area. The room was lovely, spacious and clean. The staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough. We requested an early check-in so we could change before going to a wedding and they were thankfully able to accommodate. The gardens are lovely to sit in if the weather is good and the bar has plenty of areas to sit with a cosy snug area. The breakfast was amazing with plenty of choice. Will definitely stay here again.

The Room was clean and had everything you needed. We were greeted by a good lad who struggled to find us in the book and didn't know we had paid. He booked us in for dinner. He then showed us to the room(when he remembered where it was, must have been new). He then went on to tell us breakfast was between 7.30 and 8.30. (Unfortunately we didn't check) when we woke early for breakfast so we could start our day early, we went down for breakfast to find it all locked up at 8.00am I heard noise downstairs and asked what time breakfast started. 8.30am We went down for dinner and the lady who served us was lovely accommodated a request for a table not next to dogs, she was polite and friendly and really welcoming. She also took our breakfast order and was cheerful, polite and happy even though a few customers didn't know how to use manners. The breakfast was nice enough. Our meal on the night was nice enough but the live singer was a little loud and not to our taste. There was a nice touch that we appreciated of extra bottles of water, tea, coffee sugar and milk available on the landing.
