we were so sad that we only spent one night here. This is a beautiful place with a lot of history. Cute town and we saw the northern lights here. The host at the front desk was so sweet and nice and very knowledgeable and took great care of us. Wish we could have stayed longer

Great hotel . It’s very close to the ferry (west fjords connection ). Surprisingly the hotel is part of a previous convent/school/hospital . It still has a functioning beautiful church chapel . The hotel is very clean , and the only hotel in our 15 day trek through Iceland that actually provided housekeeping on the second day without asking .Overall beautiful little town close to the national park .

Diana at the front desk was super nice and very helpful. Hotel was great and the cleaning service was as well. We (2 of us) had a view of the water from our room and right at the end of the hallway was seating with a view of the harbor and water which was really nice. There was a great variety for breakfast. We stayed three nights and it was very comfortable. We made reservations at Skipper’s restaurant for dinner which is close by. Fish and chips were delicious. Topped it off with the lava cake, yummy. Overall stay was wonderful!

A wonderful stay at the Fransiskus Hotel. With This review, I would like to give a VERY BIG THANK YOU to Patrick - he was in charge of the front desk during my stay. I cannot say enough good things about how well he treated me. Polite, professional, and friendly. He also gave excellent recommendations for dining and even exploring the Snæfellsnes peninsula. I hope that ownership and management recognize his efforts. The rooms are clean and well-appointed. The location is within walking distance to the main dining spots, the ferry terminal, and the local sights. I would definitely recommend this hotel for those looking to stopover in Stykkishólmur. P.S. - the chapel in the hotel can be a place of calm solitude for travelers looking to rest their minds.

Hotel Fransiskus was one of our favorite stays in Iceland, We had some queries before we reached but Diana at reception was a great help and very respectful and responsive. She made sure to answer all our questions and guide us about the restaurants near by. We had a nice quick chat with her when we reached. The breakfast buffet was good too. We loved our experience here and recommend the place a 100%

His is a great hotel!! Diana at the front desk and behind the bar was so nice and wonderful she made our experience just amazing. All the staff was so friendly and accommodating and the fact that it is still an active church makes it so unique. It was one of our favorite places to stay!!

This hotel was great! It's a small hotel -which we loved- that's well taken-care of, with nice staff. We had to stay in a full day because of a snow storm, and we felt safe and comfortable. The rooms were clean and comfy too.
