Very nice guesthouse, obviously repurposed from an older rangy building. Nice clean and well appointed rooms, lots of windows, and many plugs! It was torrentially raining and blowing so we could not explores much but a walk around the lake would have been lovely.

8/10 Very good

Had superior room. Fair value for price which was like most of Iceland , expensive. One negative was the breakfast. Think they are understaff. Two people working hard but couldn't keep up. Many tables waiting to be cleaned. Had to wait for a new batch of scrambled eggs. They were cool even though they just came from the kitchen. Likewise the oatmeal, brand new batch was cool. Hotel setting is beautiful. Staff friendly.

8/10 Very good

Pleasurable experience and stay The hotel had an updated rustic appearance inside and out. A Nordic touch that was well presented made it personable and functional. Rooms were clean, service was well in line with expectations, and noise level was as quiet as could be. Although the first steps out of the vehicle presented us with a slight bit of a dairy farm smell, the oder did not affect the core of the hotel. Yes there are cows several yards away. The town is walking distance from the hotel and has a grocery store, hardware store, and restaurants. We made the mistake of visiting the town to eat when we should have ate at the restaurant at the hotel.
