The biggest advantage of Hotel Europe Sarajevo is its location. It's very convenient, being close to many of Sarajevo's main attractions and just a short walk from Baščaršija, making it an excellent base for exploring the city.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the housekeeping staff do a fantastic job keeping everything clean. The waiters were also excellent throughout our stay—friendly, attentive, and professional.
Another useful feature is that the hotel has its own currency exchange and a shop on-site, which adds extra convenience for guests.
Unfortunately, the hotel itself feels quite outdated. The furniture in both the bedrooms and the lobby is old and worn, and the property would benefit greatly from a major renovation and modernisation.
The breakfast offered a good variety of options, which was appreciated, but much of the food was often cold, which took away from the overall experience.
The biggest disappointment was the swimming pool. We were able to use it for the first two days of our stay, but it was then closed for two days without any prior notice or communication to guests. It only reopened on the day we were leaving, which was frustrating, especially as the pool was one of the facilities we were looking forward to using.
Overall, Hotel Europe has a fantastic location and excellent staff, but the dated facilities, cold breakfast, and poor communication regarding the pool closure prevented it from being a higher-rated stay.
