New Orleans is known—deservedly—as a party city. Steeped in music, color and a unique cultural history, this isn’t just somewhere you go to have a good time. New Orleans is a good time. And Hotel Peter and Paul is the embodiment of that Out of Office feeling: Whether you’re attending a wedding in the hotel’s vast chapel space, hitting town for Jazzfest, or just on a party weekend in the home of Mardi Gras, this is the perfect base. They even batch and bottle their own Sazerac, the potent, whiskey-based cocktail that New Orleans created in the mid-19th century.
A drink here connects you straight to history of the Crescent City: the building housing the hotel is a 19th-century Catholic church complex in New Orleans’ buzzy Faubourg Marigny neighborhood, reimagined as a theatrical boutique hotel by local owner Nathalie Jordi. Designed in collaboration with hip New York-based studio ASH NYC, Hotel Peter and Paul pays homage to its former ecclesiastical trappings (our favorite bedroom is a Mother Superior), mixing architectural details with one-of-a-kind antique furnishings, and gingham galore.

Every room here is rich with details preserved from the building’s past, from the grand rectory parlors to the showstopping original church, which now functions as an events space that’s bathed in technicolor light from the restored stained-glass windows. Peter and Paul is a hotel that has preserved the best of its history, but still feels exciting and contemporary, and could only be from New Orleans—much like the Sazerac cocktail itself.

What guests say
Our favorite hotel in New Orleans… gorgeous, beautifully maintained property with excellent service. The owners truly know how to create a world-class hotel which honors the culture and history of the place and to do so with such finesse, creativity and humor.
Anita, one-night romantic trip
The location of the hotel is in a cute community area, very close to a local park that is perfect for a morning stroll and relaxation. Absolutely loved the charm of the hotel and the character throughout the room.
Allison, one-night trip with friends
From check-in to check-out, the experience at Hotel Peter & Paul was phenomenal. The staff were so welcoming and friendly (they even gave me a small birthday gift!). The property itself is quite incredible and the location is convenient and quiet. The rooms are stunning, clean, and comfortable… I highly recommend the restaurant that they have there, along with the cocktail bar.
