    This was a nice place to stay. The food was not great. My biggest complaint, was that they moved me out of the ocean view suite twice, and then no one had booked it. I loved this room and ended up moving because the reservation desk and the desk didn't seem to coordinate. I would only book this room. Just know that while they have pest control, dorms do have bedbugs. This is a problem throughout the region.

    The hotel was fairly good in the overall. The staff was most of the time friendly and handful. It has all that a solo traveler might need: laundry machines, souvenirs shop, restaurant, taxi and local guides available. It is also very convenient that they have dorms with many beds available. I arrive very early in the morning and since my check in was only at 14:00 I took a bed in the dorm for a very convenient FJ 18. The next day I left all my luggage in a special room they have prepared for that, and when I came back I took a shower in the dorms bathroom for another FJ 15 (the morning guy told me I could do it for free and then the afternoon lady charged me, but it was ok).

    The character of the place is really colored by your fellow guests. We started out with mostly young people who liked to sing and drink beer on the restaurant deck, then came the people watching the Rugby championships in the bar. When we left it was filling up with middle-aged Eastern Europeans. The staff was great throughout. Our room was okay, but if you plan to spend much time in it, you'd probably want to get one with a balcony. The Ramada in next door has more rooms with balconies and is owned by the same people. They use the same bus for airport pickups. Overall, this was a very interesting neighborhood to stay in, as opposed to the big resort area near the marina. It has the beach and more local flavor. We watched two locals being baptized at the beach on Sunday morning, a half-dozen young people still drinking beer from the night before, an old man standing in the water fishing with a handline, stray dogs, joggers, family picnics.
