Guesthouse Stekkatún
"The room was comfortable and clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. I just didn’t like that the kitchen wasn’t available for use, however there was a kettle and microwave available for use. I enjoyed the breakfast and when we had to leave early for a tour, we were offered food to take to go, which was very kind since it was early before breakfast started. I enjoyed my stay very much."
Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon
"Amazing experience Felt very welcome and really enjoy the food Compliments to the chef Lots of love"
Guesthouse Skálafell
"Spacious room on an absolutely gorgeous property. Check-in and check-out were easy, and there was plenty of parking available. There are amazing hiking trails directly on the property, which ended up being one of our favorite parts of the stay. We stayed for 3 nights while exploring the glacier area. The property is a very convenient drive to Diamond Beach and Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, and it’s also only about 25 minutes from Höfn. We explored the hiking trails on our first day and were so glad we did — we ended up doing an 8 km loop that led to the glacier on a beautiful day. We had a glacier hike scheduled for the following day that unfortunately ended up being cancelled due to weather, so getting to explore the glacier on our own was a huge plus! As for improvements, I wish the room had at least a mini fridge, although we made it work without one. Breakfast was okay — nothing particularly memorable, but definitely good enough to fuel us for the day. I also wish the beds were double beds rather than two twin beds. I found the bed a little uncomfortable, although my girlfriend slept fine. Overall, we had a great experience and really enjoyed our stay. The property and location were beautiful, and we would definitely stay again."
Guesthouse Gerði
"Rooms were clean and the views were spectacular. Very friendly staff and the restaurant on premises was terrific. Only thing I have to add was that we were in the main house on first floor. The doors are heavy and make a lot of noise on closing so if you are going to sleep early( which most people do), people that arrive late and drag suitcases and slam doors (in other words, they are not cognizant that people are asleep), you can hear everything. Other than that, it was great."
Hótel Jokulsarlon - Glacier Lagoon Hotel
"Had an amazing time. The place is beautiful"
Hali Country Hotel
"Great country hotel with a history to tell; breakfast is always charged separately and the reception & restaurant is driving distance away from the rooms on a gravel road"
Ekra Glacier Lagoon
"Clean room, great location, quiet, awesome view."
Kálfafellsstaður Guesthouse
"Charming guesthouse in an older farmhouse - great location, clean, comfortable. We had a nice stay, did not opt in for the breakfast at an additional cost. Very quiet despite most rooms being full. As mentioned in other reviews, there are ALOT of house rules. This didn't bother us but may deter guests who prefer a more relaxed stay."
Old Cottage - Reynivellir II
"Clean and no frills hotel used during our road-trip through Iceland. Received instructions on how to pick up keys at a different location. We didn't realize that the bathroom was to be shared (knew about the kitchen). Water temperature was confusing as it immediately became extremely hot and then cold if you are not careful."
