i’ve traveled extensively through Mexico and have stayed in many hotels. I chose this one for it’s rustic and local feel, with perfect location for ease of walking anywhere, a large room, and bathroom. Two points to note; regarding tue shower - the water pressure was kinda terrible, the challenge of regulating temperature between the hot and cold was an ongoing challenge that I could not figure out. The pillows need to be changed, they’re awful. The bed was comfortable. We had a balcony, which is wonderful. I recommend this hotel for any budget-conscious traveler looking for a central location.

Hotel was within walking distance to most amenities. Staff was very helpful as they provided a map with places to visit around the hotel. Room was cleaned daily and was safe as well. The only thing I would consider is you have to use the stairs since there is no elevator. Staff was very helpful at the front desk as they helped us with laundry assistance as well as transportation to the airport early in the morning. There is no restaurant in the hotel but there are plenty of places to eat around the hotel. Beds are a bit hard for me and pillows too soft. Had a great time during our 7 day stay.

This hotel is located in a Spanish colonial building that served as a boarding house for newly arrived Spaniards coming to Nueva Espana in the 1700s. Our room had 15' high ceilings and huge windows overlooking the street below. The bathroom was larger than some hotel rooms I've stayed in! While the amenities are very basic (weak wifi, old keys, flat pillows), the experience of staying in such a classic building outweighed any negatives. In addition, the price was very good. Highly recommended for more adventurous travelers who aren't so picky about modern-day conveniences.

Every one of the staff members were kind and helpful. The location is impeccable on a quiet street one block from the Zocalo. I had the corner suite, top floor #202 (3rd floor American--walk up) with it's over-the-top colonial decor. There's a 24hr convenience store in the building around the corner. 100 restaurants within a few blocks, Amparo Museum close by. Hotel Casa de la Palma is pleasantly historic and a great value for the wallet.

Beautiful, very large, charming rooms. Excellent value. Great location. On the downside it was noisy outside at night (maybe due to time of year) and the room has no AC or fan. There is no elevator so if that is an issue for the traveler, they should be aware. The staff go out of their way to greet and assist the guests.

Estuvimos 4 noches y lamentablemente no puedo dar mas estrellas. Las 2 estrellas las estoy dando por: 1) Personal muy amable y atentos siempre. 2) Buena ubicación del centro histórico. Estoy retirando tres estrellas por: A) Muy mal servicio de agua caliente, imposible bañarse al momento que quisieras, tenías que esperar al menos 15 minutos con la llave del agua abierta para que empezara a salir caliente. Y ya que salía caliente, solo duraba unos 4 o 5 minutos. B) Baja presión de agua en la regadera, te tenías que pegar a la pared para que te cayera el chorro de agua, nos tuvieron que cambiar de habitación por ese tema. C) Las toallas muuuuy desgastadas, algunas hasta casi transparentes en algunas partes, teníamos que estar pidiendo doble toalla para poderse secar bien..... ¿Volvería a quedarme?, por supuesto que NO, a menos que aseguren que habrá agua caliente al momento de bañarse, buena presión de agua y renovación de toallas.

Lástima de inmueble…! Mal hotel

El inmueble es un inmueble catalogado, tiene un tremendo potencial pero se nota una GRAN falta de inversión; la suite tiene motivos excelentes, pero hay cosas MUY descuidadas (baño y almohadas, sábanas, cortinas, colchas) hacen que se vea descuidado y feo. Una lástima pues el inmueble y las colecciones de antigüedades son excelentes.
