The Traditional Art Market buzzes with local craftspeople selling intricate batiks and wood carvings. Campuhan Ridge Walk rewards early risers with emerald valley views while traditional dance performances light up Ubud Palace nightly. Most visitors navigate the compact center on foot, though scooter rentals and ride-sharing apps make exploring rice terraces beyond town easy. Dining ranges from $2 local warungs to plant-based cafes catering to yoga enthusiasts. Boutique hotels and traditional guesthouses nestle among tropical gardens, offering peaceful retreats from the lively cultural hub.

Nyuh Kuning

This peaceful neighborhood sits right next to the famous Monkey Forest, where ancient temples peek through jungle canopy. Watch master woodcarvers and painters create traditional art in open-air workshops. Join a local family for home-cooked meals, or wander through compounds with intricate stone carvings and colorful ceremonial gates. Small family-run warungs serve delicious nasi campur and traditional satay at wallet-friendly prices. Most places close early, matching the village's natural rhythms. Homestays and modest guesthouses offer genuine cultural exchange with Balinese families. Walking paths connect to central Ubud in about 20 minutes, with motorcycle taxis available for quicker trips.

This peaceful spot lets you step away from tourist crowds and into a world of traditional architecture, morning gamelan music, and aromatic incense from daily offerings. The Lokha Ubud Resort, Villas & SPA

The Sankara Resort & Spa
"Stayed here for 5 nights and I’m amazed at how beautiful this hotel is!! The staff were absolutely amazing and super welcoming and helpful!! Location is great, had no issues getting to my destinations around Ubud. The breakfast was amazing and so fresh unlike any other hotel I have been to. I would definitely come back here and once again thank you so much to the incredible staff!!"

"Wonderful place, lovely people. Room was great, being able to walk out and into the pool was fab. All the staff are wonderful people, really friendly and helpful."
The Udaya Resorts and Spa
"Staff was very nice!"
Alaya Resort Ubud
"This was our first time in Bali and Ubud, and Alaya was a great base for exploring. The location is very central, with lots of restaurants, cafés, shops and spas within easy walking distance. The hotel itself is clean, modern and set in beautiful, lush surroundings. It also isn’t a huge resort, which we liked, as it was quick and easy to get back to the room or head out again. The air conditioning in our room was strong and worked really well. The staff were consistently friendly, and the traffic manager at the front was particularly helpful with crossing the busy road and helping taxis get in and out. There were a few things that stopped it feeling truly five-star for us. Check-in was quite lengthy after a long day of travelling, and there was some early-morning noise from sweeping outside the room and the shower/plumbing. Housekeeping also came at around 8am on our first morning. We hadn’t put the bamboo privacy sign out, which was our oversight, but having only checked in the night before, a slightly later visit would have been appreciated. Breakfast was included and was okay, but portions were small and some basics, such as sugar for tea and coffee, were missing. There are lots of excellent cafés nearby, which we preferred. The gym is very small and limited, so we chose to train elsewhere in Ubud, which was easy to do. We didn’t use the pool or spa, so can’t comment on those. Overall, a beautiful, well-located hotel with lovely staff, but not quite five-star by Weste"
Element by Marriott Bali Ubud
"This hotel is excellent and has lovely amenities. The staff are very helpful and super friendly. I walked (for the most part) to most places as the hotel is close to the centre of UBUD. There is a shuttle if you don’t want to walk but I wouldn’t recommend cycling. Excellent hotel and would definitely stay again."
Adiwana Alas Harum
"everything was amazing, the people, the food the room so amazing"
SenS Hotel and Spa Conference Ubud Town Centre
"The highlight of our stay was the incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Almost everyone we interacted with went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well looked after. Small touches such as remembering our breakfast orders, bringing snacks with drinks ordered from the bar, helping us find the right driver, and explaining the local area and surroundings really made a difference. There are a few areas where the property could improve, particularly with housekeeping and room comfort. The carpets could be vacuumed more regularly, and the wash basin could benefit from a more thorough clean, as there were some signs of mould that became noticeable on closer inspection. The air conditioning could also be stronger or cool the room faster, especially for guests returning from the heat outside. Better water pressure in the shower would also improve the overall experience. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and really enjoyed the location. The staff were knowledgeable, welcoming and able to communicate well in English, which made everything much easier throughout our stay. With a few improvements to cleanliness and room amenities, the experience could be even better."
