The front desk alerted the kitchen it was my wife’s birthday the following week and they made us up a lovely little plate of dessert treats to top off our excellent kaiseki. "What a decadent experience in low-key, authentic Japanese style. Not a detail was spared in the gorgeous historic building and lush forest grounds. The several course meals were outstanding, served in our private dining room and the staff was beyond helpful and gracious. The multiple onsens on property were beautiful and healing, you can even reserve one for an hour of private use. To get there, board a shinkansen and get off at the train station that is about 25 minutes away from the hotel and...

"The washlet bidet was not working. No change of room because of this issue. It is 15 minutes far which is hard to travel in Summer especially august. But otherwise, the stay and the people were pleasant. I loved the 温泉! "

"Very nice boutique hotel. Staff are friendly, eager to help and speak English well. Parking is attached and free. Hotel lobby, restaurant and common areas are very well designed, modern and tasteful with many nice details. Room is super comfortable and feels luxurious and spacious. Nice view to ocean and a sculptural park. Dining is very very good. Besides the great food, restaurant staff are amazing! The onsen is nice and clean. I’ll want to come back and recommend to my friends."

"The food was terrible especially dinner set for 6000yen. So called Wagyu was tiny and tasted like a trash. We both stew up having just a bite. The room and onsen were good but it was not worth considering the quality of the food."

"This was one of the highlights of our trip. The property was beautiful, and the rooms were amazing. I recommend doing half board and experiencing the provided dinner and breakfast. The location can be tricky if you plan on walking from Atami station, as it would take approximately 35 minutes and was mostly uphill. My regret was only booking to stay one night at this location."
