How to get to Bend

Fly to nearby Redmond Municipal Airport from locations such as San Francisco and Los Angeles, although if you’re traveling from overseas, you may need to transfer at Portland International Airport first. Driving to Bend from Portland will take a little over 3 hours along I-5 S, OR-22 E, and US-20 E, and if you’re in Redmond, travel along US-97 S which leads directly to the city. Busses run along US-97 all the way to La Pine nestled in the Deschutes National Forest from Monday through Friday, with great-value fares available. A car trip from Bend to the national forest will take approximately 35 minutes.
